It's not a test-shot.
The history of this figure is known.
A father and son attended the Customising Class together and between them painted and assembled one G2 Sideswipe. The other kit they had was just assembled and then sold to one of the dealers inside of the BotCon sales room.

Thanks guys I've corrected the information. We'd not heard that story ourselves and mis-read the Japanese auction.
