The 2012 Olympics - quartz - 02-16-2011 08:41 AM

So with the games getting ever closer and the dates now announced is anyone thinking of trying to get tickets and if so, to which events?

I'm not normally that bothered but its certainly more tempting to go along next year to watch something

I think the prices will probably stop me.
As I am "oop nerrth" the transport and hotels will prob cost more than the entry to the events during the tournement.
If I lived in London though, I'd love to watch the cycling!!!

Basketball, see me some dream team action and to heckle the GB team as the non nba players will suck, no question. Still it'll be high scoring (for the opposition) and that always makes a game more interesting

nope couldn't be more disinterested but it'll be good for local economy, well at least the hookers

We should organise a 'Transformers Olympic @the Moon!' © event in direct competition.

There's bound to be a ton of Transformer fans from over the world coming to the UK for events - knowing that we're doing something at the same time would be great Kudos for us!

What events could we have?

'Strangleholds wrestling with a 70's porn 'tache event'?

'Octopunch's underwater welding event'?

'Wreck-Gars timed repair Ultra Magnus event'?

'Starscreams Speed Betrayal'?

Just heard the other day that the cycling route pretty well goes through my home town so I may have to pop along to that seems a bit rude not to when they quite possibly could be passing within a 5 minute walk of my house.
