I have uploaded the photographs that we took whilst at Auto Assembly 2011 here in the UK. The convention took place last week end in Birmingham and was another outstanding success.
We'd once again like to thank everyone who attended the event from the guests, the dealers, the volunteers, the committee, the hotel staff and, of course, Simon and Trish for all their work throughout the year

First of all I would like to say thank you to everyone who attended Auto Assembly in one capacity or another. Everyone worked their butts off from the committee, the volunteers, the dealers and their helpers to try to make the show as smooth as possible despite the problems that were faced. The guests were once again warm and welcoming and once again went out of their way to entertain everyone. Finally everyone who attended the convention needs to be thanked. There were a lot of first-timers this year and the general consensus was overwhelmingly positive.
During Auto Assembly it was announced that David Kaye is voicing a role in Transformers Prime, but it was also hinted, during his promo video, that David Sobolov, voice of Beast Wars Depth Charge, may also have a role in the current Transformers show.

Simon Plumbe has sent out another press release regarding Auto Assembly 2011 and the possible effects that the recent disturbances in Birmingham may have on transport to and from the hotel
Birmingham Update Press Release
Naturally, we know that many of you are still concerned about events in Birmingham but we wanted to reassure you about what is happening and keep you up to date about what we are doing to ensure the convention continues as smoothly as possible.
First, some of you may have heard that coaches to Birmingham have been cancelled. As far as we have heard, Digbeth Coach Station has been temporarily closed but coaches are being diverted to Edgbaston which is approximately 1 miles outside of the city centre so this will just be a short taxi ride to the convention hotel. As there are still a few days to the convention, we believe that there is still time for the station to re-open.
Secondly, while there were still incidents last night, they were significantly reduced following the increased police presence in the city centre. Last night over 500 police officers were in the centre and did a fantastic job containing the violence and disruptions and keeping this to a minimum.
For those of you coming to the convention this weekend, don't forget that we have an active Event Page on Facebook that you can join:- http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=141185125921522 . We are leaving to head off to the convention at noon today but we will still be posting updates throughout the day on Facebook and leading right up to the convention and other attendees will post details of travel share plans and general discussions of incidents that they may find out in relation to the convention. To allay any concerns that you may have regarding part of the content of the convention this year, both David Kaye and David Wise are already in the UK and Gregg Berger is leaving the US today to arrive tomorrow morning so all our guests of honour will be in the UK by tomorrow morning!
Just remember guys... "Nothing's going to stand in our way!". We're very close to setting a NEW European attendance record and with YOUR help, we are determined to make this the BEST convention we have ever held!
People are already looking at making car share or travel share plans, arrangements to travel to hotels together or in groups for those not staying in the convention hotel so we are making every effort to cover ever eventuality this year.

Auto Assembly sent out the following press release yesterday
Transformers Actors Rally behind Auto Assembly 2011!
With less than a week to go before the Transformers event of the year, it’s
decision time - are you going to join us in giving a thunderous farewell to
the Holiday Inn, in it’s final year as AA central?
We’ve done all we can to persuade you – we’ve told you about our room full
of Transformers dealers, our guest panels, exclusive giveaways, our unveiling of
new and never before seen video game information from Jagex... we’ve even told
you that Hasbro will be in attendance this year to add a final shine to what is
certainly going to be the biggest and most phenomenal event we have ever
hosted.
But still, with just four days until pre-registration closes, some of you
are undecided... so how about, rather than taking our word you listen to what
some of our friends have got to say about us... and my, do we have friends in
high places!
And not to be outdone, with the appliance of science we are able to bring
you this special presentation put together for you all by Mr Paul Eiding
himself - the voice of Generation 1 Perceptor.
Friends, your heroes have spoken! Come to Auto Assembly 2011! And let’s
break that European attendance record one more time! If you can't make it this
year, don't forget you can book NOW for Auto Assembly 2012 and beat the
rush!

Transformers Universe
MMO Panel At Auto Assembly 2011!
You may have thought
that you had seen all of our major announcements regarding Auto Assembly 2011,
but we said we had a few more special announcements that we had held back - and
here's one of the biggest that we have been wanting to tell you all about for
quite some time...
The upcoming
Transformers Universe MMO is on course to be one of the most eagerly awaited
Transformers games EVER. The online MMO will be giving players the chance to
take charge of a brand new self-created Autobot or Decepticon and play against
thousands of other players across the globe!
The game is being
created by Jagex, the British developers who are responsible for Runescape
which is the world's most popular free-to-play MMOG and over 40 other online
titles.
Jagex will be at Auto
Assembly 2011 and will be taking to the stage for a presentation on the game
and for a Q&A Session on the Saturday afternoon which promises to be one of
the hits of the convention, where they will be revealing some new information
about the game EXCLUSIVELY to Auto Assembly attendees!
That's not all though,
we can also now reveal that we are being joined by our SIXTEENTH guest! A late
addition to our already stunning line-up is Marvel G1 artist and inker Stephen
Baskerville who will be making his Auto Assembly debut this year. He will be
taking to the stage as part of our revised comic panel on Saturday afternoon
joining Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman to talk about Transformers #81...
Auto Assembly 2011 is
taking place over the weekend of 12th - 14th August 2011 at the Holiday Inn
Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England and tickets are available from the
website now. For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the
guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets,

The true legendary scribe of Transformers, Simon Furman, have updated his blog with a small entry regarding the SDCC announcement by IDW that Transformers #81 will indeed be published with a special 20 part run (issue 80.5 through 100) with the original Generation One crew of Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman back on board. Here is Simon's post
"Announced live yesterday at San Diego Comicon — the original
Marvel Transformers comic series (cancelled back in 1991 at issue #80)
is being continued by IDW Publishing, thanks in large part to an online
fan petition (big shouts for Luke and Ron of the IDW forums) and the
tireless efforts of IDW EiC Chris Ryall. Transformers (‘classic’) will
(re-) launch in Spring 2012 with issue 80 and a half, and reunites the
previous writer/artist team of myself and Andrew Wildman. The
reinvigorated run will build to a monumental 100th issue conclusion,
pulling together and tying up every dangling plotline you can think of
and a whole lot you can’t! What else can I tell you about the series?
Nada. Niente. Zilch. So don’t ask. For the time being anyway we’re
keeping this tightly under wraps. But it is going to shatter your
trousers! Guaranteed! "
Do not forget that Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman will both be in attendance at Auto Assembly next month in Birmingham where you can give them your reactions in person

Another news story, another convention press release. Yes following on from SDCC its time to bring you the latest Press Release from Auto Assembly.
Auto Assembly 2011 Bookings Close In 3 Weeks
If you haven't already pre-registered, it's time to hurry up! Pre-registration for Auto Assembly 2011 closes in just THREE WEEKS at 10:00 pm GMT on Wednesday 10th August 2011!
The convention is fast approaching and if you want to get a personalised name badge and have some of the better, more limited free gifts in your goodie bag, as well as earlier admission to the convention, then you need to book your tickets online as soon as possible. We will have tickets available on the day for one day and full weekend passes, but as you will need to complete registration forms when you arrive, these will take longer for you to get into the convention.
Passes won't be sent out in advance of the convention this year. Instead we will be making them available for all of you to pick up at the convention in a series of designated pick up times starting from noon on Friday and continuing on Saturday and Sunday allowing for those of you who can only make in on those days and for single day attendees so even if you can't book until a few days before, you will still have a pass waiting for you to collect along with your bag of free gifts!

Auto Assembly Launches New Fanzine - CT Alpha
We're in the last
couple of weeks before Auto Assembly 2011 and currently putting this
year's edition of The Cybertronian Times to bed. It's shaping up to be
another cracking edition, in a similar vein to last year's sell-out
edition and we can't wait to let you see it on the day, although we
aren't going to be stopping with that and sitting back and relaxing, oh
no! There are times when a year's gap between Auto Assembly and new
editions of The Cybertronian Times is a bit too long. With that in mind
we are putting together a new ongoing fanzine to help tide you over in
those months where AA seems just too far away, so later this year we
will be launching CT Alpha, an ongoing companion to The Cybertronian
Times...
So why tell us now you ask? The answer is fairly
straightforward... Instead of just churning something out, we'd like to
offer you the chance to help shape the look and feel of the magazine. So
at 11:30 am on Sunday 14th August 2011 we will be holding an open forum
for you to come along and do just that at Auto Assembly 2011! We'll be
discussing the fanzine, and getting your feedback and some of your ideas
and if anyone is interested in contributing then they can let us know.
Now we know there is lots already taking place at the convention, and
and we have a fairly packed event so if you can't make it and still want
to pass on your ideas to us, we'll have contact information available
on the day for you.
Now there will be all sorts of questions
going through your heads right now, mostly about how often it will come
out, how many pages and how much is this going to cost me? We are going
to have to be coy about some of these details for the time being and
more will be revealed at the discussion itself. However, what we can
tell you just now, aside from a promise that each issue will have more
than 16 pages in it is that the first issue of CT Alpha will be released
on 19th September 2011 and will be absolutely free. That's right -
FREE!
We are looking forward to seeing you there at the discussion forum at Auto Assembly 2011, and sharing some great ideas with you.

The Auto Assembly team have sent out the following press release
Auto Assembly 2011 Booking
Deadlines!
Auto Assembly 2011 is just 32 days away
and as the excitement grows many of you are making last minute preparations for your trip to Birmingham for the
convention...
However, as always, a large number of you
still haven't bought tickets for the event yet. As seems to be the trend with Auto Assembly over the last few
years, 25%-30% of the tickets sold for
the convention are done in the last 4-6 weeks and this year is no
exception!
Many people have emailed us asking what
the closing date is for bookings this year. As many of you know, we are not sending out passes this year. Instead, we
are running a pass pick-up system at the
convention itself for all attendees, staggered to ensure that everyone
gets their passes and goodie bags
quickly and effectively and can get into the convention when it opens properly as fast as possible. All you will
need to do is bring a printout of your
booking confirmation email with you to the convention - it's that
simple!
Because of this, we can accept bookings
later than ever this year. We will have our full PC suite and pass production equipment with us at the convention and
while we are departing for the hotel a
few days before the event, we will still have full internet access so we
will able to accept and process bookings
right up until the evening of Wednesday 10th August 2011!! Bookings MUST be received by no later than 10:00 pm
GMT and be paid for by PayPal using your
credit/debit card or PayPal balance. For bookings made this late, we can
not accept payments made by
echeques.
As soon as we receive your booking, you
will receive a confirmation email with your ticket number and you will need to bring this along to the convention with
you so you can collect your pass and
goodie bag. Details of pass pick up times will be made available online
shortly, as will our convention
information pack.
This year, we are being joined by no less
than 13 guests from the world of Transformers including three guests of honour - David Kaye, Gregg Berger and
David Wise, and some of the top British
comic talent out there - Simon Furman, Nick Roche, James Roberts, Andrew
Wildman, Geoff Senior and many
more!
We have all the usual dealers tables,
guest talks, free autograph sessions, rare toy displays, a massive video games area, free workshops, a fan sales
table where you can sell your unwanted
toys and merchandise, and much more, with a few more surprises to be
announced soon...
