In this Ark Addendum update Jim Sorenson finishes off the animation models from the Masterforce episode Kidnapping!? Transformers Cartoons

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog, Disciples of Boltax, with a new entry entitled "The Ark Addendum - Boeing 757 and The AllSpark Almanac returns".  Here is Jim's description of the entry:

"Today's Addendum, and theme I'll explore for the next couple of weeks, is the Airplane models from the third episode of Masterforce, Kidnapping!? The Targeted Jumbo Jet.  The Destron baddies captured airplane-loads of people to turn them into the Destroids, a zombie-like force.  Creepy stuff!  This is the model for Mont Port Air Flight 308."

Jim also blogs a little more on the return of the AllSpark Almanac and how its return came about.

Transformers Cartoons

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog, Disciples of Boltax, with the transformation sequence for the trainbot Yukikaze.  Previously Jim has posted the transformation sequences for four other members of the Trainbots, Shouki, Getsui, Seizan and Suiken but he is missing the sequence for Kaen and the gestault form Raiden. We will check through our own character / model sheets to see if we have the missing pages but in the meantime here is Jim's thoughts on the character.

BTW, Yukikaze translates roughly to "Snow Breeze."  It's a fairly common name in Anime and Manga, especially for cold-based characters.  The name itself would be reused in Beast Wars II as the space ship (non-sentient) for the Maximals.

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog with a new Ark Addendum entry Lightfoot's Transform.  Lightfoot was the name for Getaway in Japan, and he appeared in the cartoon Transformers Super God Masterforce.  As always here's Jim to introduce the piece.

"Hail and well met, loyal blogosphere!  It's time for another edition of The Ark Addendum.  Since I've been hitting the US cartoon for the past few weeks, I thought I'd bounce over to Japan for another nifty Transformation.  This week, it's Lightfoot!"

Transformers Cartoons

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog Disciples of Boltax with a new entry that continues on from last weeks update on Desertion of the Dinobots.  As you could probably guess the entry is titled "The Ark Addendum - Desertion of the Dinobots (part 2)" and contains more character sheets from that episode of the show.

Here's a preview of the article Jim wrote that accompanies the blog entry, but you can find the full post here.

"Part one gave us a nice survey of some Earthly structures.  This time, we had to Cybertron!  We'd previously seen the surface of Cybertron, in episodes like More than Meets the Eye and Divide and Conquer.  This time, we go much deeper, seeing some mining pits and computer screens."

Transformers Cartoons

Jim Sorenson updated his blog the Disciples of Boltax during the week with another Ark Addendum.  This weeks entry was entitled The Ark Addendum - Desertion of the Dinobots (part 1) and, as the name suggest, features some character sheets from the Generation One Cartoon Episode, Desertion of the Dinobots.

Here is Jim's take on this weeks entry "Usually on multipart episodes I just mix up the models, as they tend to be pretty similar thematically.  Not this time though, no.  Part one gives us a nice variety of Earthen backgrounds.  We start out at the EJK Science Complex - I love the vault there.  When the Decepticon attack on that is foiled, Spike relaxes at the Fun A Rama amusement park before heading to the Central City Airport to pick up his dad.  Finally, after the Decepticon base there is rooted out, they go to recharge at the DLP Electric plant.  One thing that's interesting to me is how each of the places they visit has a name, at least on the model sheet.  I wonder what that's about.  "

Transformers Cartoons

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog the Disciples of Boltax with his latest Ark Addendum update.  This weeks update is called "Brainstorm's Tranformation sequence" and can be found here.

Jim describes the entry as "And what is normal, for me, if not character models? This time, I bring you another Ark Addendum transformation sequence. This is for Headmasters Brainstorm. While there are really only two intermediate steps in this transform, the second one (step 3 of 4) is pretty action packed. Hope you enjoy! "

Transformers CartoonsFirst I would like to say sorry to Jim Sorenson for posting this news story almost a week after the event, but better late than never I suppose.  Last Tuesday Jim updated his blog Disciples of Boltax, with the latest Ark Addendum which was entitled Enter the Nightbird (part 2).  As the name suggests this entry follows on from a previous Ark Addendum, one that was posted by in Feb before Jim started to focus on the Ron Friedman auctions.  The post continues with some character models from the episode and includes a bonus download of the Partial Script for Enter the Nightbird: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5BWK6K3U

Transformers CartoonsJim Sorenson has updated his blog, Disciples of Boltax, with another entry under The Ark Addendum.  This weeks update, which was actually posted yesterday, was titled The Ark Addendum - More than Meets the Eye which continues Jim's focus on the very first episodes of The Transformers.  The update contains some of the landscapes that, as Jim himselves states, "really help set the tone for the series to follow, especially season one.  Two broadened the artistic palate, and three went in many fantastic and bizarre directions."  Check them out by clicking the link at the beginning of this story

Transformers Cartoons

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog Disciples of Boltax with a new Ark Addendum entry entitled Megatron's Master Plan (e).  Here's what Jim had to say about this weeks update

"Just as I started on what I felt was a high point, I wanted to end the same way.  The first post in the series, back in December of 2008, focused on propaganda.  We went through some models of Berger's rocket and some structures in the episode, but I figured I'd finish off with the models that make up Central City.  It seems to be quite a large metropolis, with a robust skyline, a huge stadium, a massive city hall, and a fairly contentious political scene.  One wonders if The Flash is around to keep things safe.  Sadly, the futuristic version of this town gets crushed in Five Faces of Darkness when Metroplex and Trypticon battle.  Ah, well, easy come, easy go.I hope you enjoy this detailed examination of the nearest city to the Ark as much as I did. "

Transformers Cartoons

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog with another Ark Addendum, this time entitled Crosshairs, TRANSFORM!

The entry focuses on the transformation sequence of Autobot Targetmaster Crosshairs and his targetmaster partner Pinpointer (Pointech in Japan).  Here's Jim to tell you a little about it.

"Today I'm feeling like getting away from the Sunbow cartoon and dancing over to Japan.  We haven't done a Transform sequence in a while, so how about... Crosshairs!

One thing that's a bit odd about the sequence is how we see his Targetmaster fly away from him in the second step... but then Pinpointer (or Pointech, if you're feeling the Japanese love) isn't on the model in step one.  Whoops!  Anyway, enjoy!
"
