Transformers Movie NewsMegan Fox will not be returning for the third live action Transformers film. What is not clear though is whether it was her decision not to return or whether she was nixed by Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures.  According to deadline.com, who broke the story originally, the decision to axe Miss Fox was taken by Michael Bay, however, and this is to be expected, Megan reps have told People magazine that it was in fact her decision not to return for the third movie. Since the announcement the US gossip magazines / websites are already running rumours on who will be replacing Megan as Sam's love interest in the third movie, with The Wrap reporting that Gemma Arterton emerged as the early favourite to replace her, though since they pretty much everyone has been linked including Zoe Saldana, Hayden Panetierre, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Camilla Belle, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Ashley Greene, Julianne Hough, Jessica Lowndes and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

If people thought the UK election resulted in mixed signals it has nothing on the Skids and Muflaps possible appearance in Transformers 3.  First it was reported that they were in, then Michael Bay came out stating that they were not back for the third film, and now leftlanenews.com reports, with imags, that they are back in the third film!

"Sporting “Autobot” center caps on the wheels, these two vehicles were captured doing some pre-production work before principal filming starts in a few weeks. We think you are looking at Skidz (green) and Mudflap (orange).

Skidz is looking much sportier than in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, with new front and rear fascias, larger fenders, sportier wheels and a big wing. Mudflap was previously based on the Chevy Traxx concept, but for this installment, it appears both cars will be built off the Chevy Spark.

General Motors will once again be the main vehicle supplier for the latest Transformers movie, so expect to see several other GM-badged vehicles, including a black and yellow Chevy Camaro as Bumblebee."

MTV have posted an article entitled 'Transformers 3' Script Complete, Josh Duhamel Says in which they post some quotes from the Transformers actor when the spoke to him at ShoWest in Las Vegas yesterday. Here is a quote:

"I read it yesterday," he said of the script. "I think that after reading it, I was really pleasantly surprised and happy. They did a great job."

While Duhamel was understandably tight-lipped about plot details, he did reveal that the script includes new robots and story elements from foundational "Transformers" story lines. "Some really cool stuff happens," he said. "They put a lot of time and thought into this. What I think is really cool is they went back into the history of 'Transformers.' They didn't really make anything up. They're using stuff that actually existed in the story from before."

Transformers Movie News

You may recall that back on the 12th September we reported a news story titled Crew Members Respond to Megan Fox's Insults, in which we published the "Open Letter" that three members of the Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen crew had written about Megan Fox in response to comments made by her regarding Michael Bay.

We we rightly predicted Michael Bay came out in her defence and had the original post removed from his message board.

Well now Miss Fox, via her publicist has issued the following short statement.

"I have spoken with the parties involved privately, I am very fortunate to be involved in this amazing franchise and look forward to Transformers 3."

Credit to Digital Spy for the quote.

  • In the meantime "Pain & Gain" is looking very possible as is...
  • ...Bad Boys 3. Either film coming to a theater near you before or after Transformers 3.

Transformers Movie News

Following up from the story we ran last night, as predicted regarding the open letter from three Transformers Revenge of the Fallen crew, and sent to Nelson (editor of Shoot for the Edit)regarding Megan Fox's recent comments about Michael Bay, the letter / comments have now been removed from Michael's website (as we predicted).

Michael Bay has posted the following comment.

I don’t condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don’t condone Megan’s outlandish quotes. But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3.

Michael

If you want to read the crew's original reaction then you can still do so on Transformers At The Moon and the news story which we posted last night, mirroring the story for exactly this reason.

Transformers Movie News

In a post on his own message board, Michael Bay urges fans to go see the iMax version of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

Back from Moscow. Fresh from a visit to the former KGB, with second in command. He told me in his office I'm one of 10 American's, one being a President, to ever be allowed inside what is now called the FSB. The only reason was he heard I was in town and he is a fan of my films.

Last night with my crew I saw the IMAX version. Once you get used to the giant format and your eyes adjust, it's an awesome experience. I have been waiting until the film was final to judge, and I'm really pleased. You have to make a point to see it this way - It could be the very best way to see Transformers.

C'mon guys critics? Give me a break. Do you all have short term memory? They killed the first one, and it still became a world-wide smash. I made this for the you, the audience!

Michael

Transformers Movie News

Transformers Director Michael Bay sent a scathing email to studio Paramount Pictures on the 4th May, reports gossip site TMZ. "... I have been waiting, and waiting for the anticipation of an 'event movie' to make it into the 'public zeitgeist,' they quote Mr Bay as writing as well as pointing out that he calls the print campaign for the film an "abject failure," with a "pathetic presence" in the L.A. Times. Here refers to the profile of the movie on the MTV Video Awards as "so lame." referring to the fact that the first Transformers in 2007 had a 30-minute segment at the MTV Movie Awards, but this year the sequel's only support was in the form of lead actors Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox presenting an award.

Bay makes a attack on Paramount head Sumner with his comment of "You all talk so glowingly about Transformers being the movie of the summer but unfortunately this has not gotten to the public.  I still run into so many people even this weekend with kids that ask "is that movie coming out this year?".  Your owner Sumner, went on air in wall street last week talking how Paramount was going to claim the summer with Star Trek and G.I Joe. I guess he didn't even know it was coming out either." which points out that the film was being poorly advertised.

Bay goes on to name drop Jerry Bruckheimer in the email with "Over the years Jerry Bruckheimer mentored me on event movies - he had a mantra - "A studio that does not make it an event, will it into an event, thinks the audience will just show up, will always be bittin in the ass".  Besides my good friend Steven, Jerry has made a lot more successful movies ten all of us".

Its not all bad news though as on the 6th June Michael sent Paramount Pictures an email praising them and saying that "Paramount is like family. Thank you all for busting your butts and bringing your 'A game' for the release of Transformers".

You can read the full emails here and here.

To complete the fantasy, kids can pretend to battle the DECEPTICONS with the new TRANSFORMERS MOVIE BUMBLEBEE PLASMA CANNON. This awesome arm blaster converts from BUMBLEBEE'S robot arm to his plasma cannon and features lights and signature TRANSFORMERS sound effects. And, long-time fans will be thrilled with one of the most powerful DECEPTICONS, the new TRANSFORMERS MOVIE CONSTRUCTICON DEVASTATOR figure, a monstrous robot that combines six vehicles into one giant robot.

For 25 years, Hasbro has provided kids with hours of MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE action with their figures that convert from robot to vehicles and back again. Legions of boys around the world grew up creating fantastic adventures and battles set on both the planet CYBERTRON and Earth that featured the heroic AUTOBOTS - like OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE - clashing with the evil DECEPTICONS, led by MEGATRON.
