TFYuki has posted an image of Twitter of a production sample for the upcoming Masterpiece Star Saber. Whilst this is not the finished version it is a great update on where the toy is.

This months Japanese Hobby magazines come with a fresh and full look at the soon to be released Masterpiece Star Saber figure. The figure we expect to be released in a blackk redeco later to match the Robotmasters figure but the latest offers show the painted figure in various forms giving everyone the best look thus far at the toy.

Hisashi Yuki, better known as TF YUKI on Twitter, has been sharing more images of the upcoming Transformers Masterpiece Star Saber prototype over on his Twitter account. The new images including comparisons of Saber, who is smaller than the original toy but more cartoon accurate, as well as Star Saber, who is taller than the original figure. You can view the new images below and remember that the toy is out in March 2015

Thanks to the twitter account of Hisashi yuki, we have a good look at the prototype of the inner Brainmaster figure for the upcoming Masterpiece Star Saber. This figure is roughly the size of a Diaclone driver, as shown in the images, and whilst its body no longer contains the face of Saber, he does reveal the face by putting the figure to the chest.  The mini-figure is also more show accurate in his general appearance. With the release of the current batch of Japanese hobby magazines comes the revealing of new images of TakaraTomy's Masterpiece Star Saber offering.  The latest image shows Saber for the first time with the article making mention to, but not yet confirming, that the figure will also come with the small Brainmaster Saber figure as well

TakaraTomy have unveiled the prototype for the upcoming Masterpiece Star Saber figure at the 2014 Tokyo Toy Show. The figure, which of course won the Fan's Choice Poll, will be available later in the year andhas so far only been photographed in robot mode.

2chan have posted some scans from the latest issue of Figure King which show MP-20 Masterpiece Wheeljack in full colour, the line-art for Masterpiece Star Saber as well as a little snippet on the "phase 6" Masterpiece Ultra Magnus.  You can view the images below.

Thanks to a Google upload we all have clearer look at the bladed weapon from Transformers: Age of Extinction. The weapon, which could well turn out to be called the Star Saber, has been seen being carried by Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor and ties into the medieval theme which we have personally been told was to influence the design process. The official announcement of the winner of the Fans Choice Masterpiece competition will be announced live via YouTube in a little over 2 hours and 20 minutes but the results have already been confirmed in the latest issue of Figure King magazine (via taghobby). 86.9% of the votes made up the top 5 positions. The end results were:

• 1.STAR SABER - 31.2% of the vote
  

• 2.CONVOY(Micron Legend AKA Armada) - 24.3% of the votes
• 3.SUPER GINRAI - 18.5% of the votes
• 4.DAI ATLAS - 8% of the vote

So it looks like fans of Transformers Victory will be their wish of a Masterpiece.  With Star Saber winning this does increase the chances of a Victory Leo Masterpiece figure also being made.

TakaraTomy have confirmed recent rumour of who leads their Fans Choice Masterpiece poll by posting the current top three standings onto their website.  Recently it was rumoured that Star Saber was beating God Ginrai (Powermaster Optimus Prime) only that is not exactly true as the current standings are:

1　スターセイバー (Star Saber)
2　コンボイ（超ロボット生命体 トランスフォーマー マイクロン伝説） (Convoy - Micron Legends (Armada))
3　ダイアトラス (Dai Atlas)

The popularity of the 2nd choice is probably going to be the most suprising around with Western fans, however the start of the "Unicron Trilogy" is the series that a lot of people grew up with.

TakaraTomy have announced that the newest addition to the Masterpiece family will by Generation 2 Sideswipe.  The figure is more than just a black repaint of MP Lambor, as he will be a retool with new weapons and tyres.

In addition to this announcement at the Tokyo ToyShow, TakaraTomy also announced that as a part of their 30th anniversary celebrations of the Transformers line they will be holding a "Fan's Choice" poll to decide which Cybertron (Autobot) leader should be made into a Masterpiece Figure.  The choices are:

Fortress Maximus, God Ginrai (Powermaster Optimus Prime), Star Saber, Dia Atlas, Beast Convoy (Optimus Primal), Lio Convoy, Big Convoy, Fire Convoy (RiD Optimus Prime), Super Convoy (Armada Convoy), Grand Convoy (Superlink Convoy) or Galaxy Convoy (Cybertron Convoy).  you can view some images from the event below thanks to Twitter users GENgoraw, ripetakobozu and MORILEO0814
