Transformers Convention News

All The Cool Stuff have sent out the following announcement regarding the announcement of two new guest for Roll Out Roll Call 2012.  If you do not know what Roll Out Roll Call is then allow me to explain.  The event if a two day convention taking place in March in Southampton here within the United Kingdom.  The show is dedicated to Action Force, G.I-Joe and Transformers.  Next year will be the third show for this growing event and we encourage everyone who is a fan of one of these lines to drop by as it's going to be a blast as well as a great chance to catch up with some fellow fans at the end of the Winter.

Back to the news, here is a copy of the announcement

"Since announcing Larry Hama's attendance, there's a lot of excitement and interest in Roll Out Roll Call 2012, the UK Transformers, GI-Joe & Action Force show.  Want to know next 2 guests for Roll Out Roll Call 2012? Checkout & listen to Episode 25 of "What's on JOE Mind" for the exclusive new guest announcements: http://whatsonjoemind.podbean.com

In addition the details of the first Custom Competition are also up, check out the threads over at: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=10927

There will be more exclusive announcements over the next few weeks, so stay tuned or follow the show on Twitter @rolloutrollcall."

Transformers At The Moon will be in attendance at the event, as we are fans of both of these lines, and we are also please to announce that we are also sponsoring the event next year to try to help it grow.

If you come along to Auto Assembly every August you no doubt feel that a year is too long to meet-up with your Transformers friends, sure there is the odd meet-up arrange but most of us can't make them or justify the trips, but with Roll Out Roll Call there is a lot more going on to justify the journey.  You will have the social aspect, the dealers, panels, the cosplayer and, of course, the guests.  The events are almost 6 months apart giving everyone the best possible chance to make both events and help unite and strength the bonds of the fan communities for both these iconic lines.

I encourage you to keep you eye on the show, the official twitter account, Transformers At The Moon, Blood For The Baron, What's on Joe Mind, Full Metal Hero and The Nerdsphere for more announcements as the event gets closer.

Transformers Convention News

?I thought I would bring you a random Saturday afternoon update since its a warm day here in London and I've been chilling out after a 17 hour grind in the office yes?terday. As such I have uploaded only our 4th video to our YouTube ?account which consists of a random montage of footage we recorded from the dealer room at Botcon 2011. The footage is available in HD format down and is the the second video we have uploaded to YouTube from our library of convention footage that we have recorded over the past ten years. At somepoint we hope to share all of thhe videos with you which include videos from Japanese Winter Wonderfests, Botcons, Auto Assembly, Transforce as well as other conventions. We must have something like 40 or 50 hours worth of convention footage that we have never made public before but always planned to release when we found time. Anyway, you can find the video footage below.

Transformers Convention News
Auto Assembly 2010 News Update Episode 5 Released...
Even though an incredible amount of information has already been announced about Auto Assembly 2010, Europe's largest Transformers convention, we are not resting on our laurels and we are back with another announcement to keep all our attendees up-to-date on all the latest developments with the convention and to hopefully persuade some of you who are still undecided about what con to attend this Summer...
Episode 5 of our series of news videos is now LIVE on Youtube and you can check it out here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhMXE-KpipI
In this week's show, we have details of the latest news on dealers tables at the convention, ticket sales, our new Costume Competition, and much more besides! If you want to know the full details, you'll just have to watch the video and find out for yourselves!
Spanning the weekend of Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England, the convention is playing host to a staggering 11 guests including three guests of honour (Garry Chalk, Scott McNeill and Derrick J Wyatt), and will feature toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area, free workshops run by many of our guests, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced! There will also be Friday and Saturday evening programmes, exclusive for weekend attendees and the Saturday evening will play host to a party, a concert by rock band Next Of Kin (including a Transformers themed set with music from the 1986 animated movie!), costume competition, our voice actors will take to the stage to perform a BRAND NEW script written by Simon Furman and we still have a few more surprises in store...!
Because of the venue size, we are restricting attendance to a MAXIMUM of 550 people at the convention per day which can be made up of a combination of weekend and one-day attendees and once we hit that total we will be closing registrations so if you want to attend Europe's largest Transformers convention, you need to hurry and get your tickets now as we have already had over 325 pre-registrants so tickets are likely to be a complete sell-out!
Despite our running costs increasing for this year, we have frozen ticket prices from Auto Assembly 2009 and they are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145. Single day passes are available at reduced rates but these are VERY limited.
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk
We hope to see you all in August 2010.
The Auto Assembly 2010 Team
Auto Assembly 2010 is sponsored by www.transformertoys.co.uk and www.transformersanimated.com whose generosity have made Derrick J Wyatt's appearance at the convention possible.

Transformers Convention News

The Botcon website has under-gone a Generation 2 style facelift over night with a new theme including a poster image showing a Clench to be a recolour of Transformers Universe Onslaught but with a new head.

After their update of Streetwise was leaked (that's what happens when you give images a uniform name on websites), the BotCon team decided to play a joke on anyone scrapping for Clench by uploading poorly digitally doctored images of Universe Tankor recoloured as Clench which fooled several US based sites.  For those wanting to see the spoofed images you can find them here and here.

Transformers Convention NewsAuto Assembly 2009 Two Weeks To Go!

Auto Assembly 2009 is now just two weeks to go and is already Europe's biggest ever Transformers convention with almost 450 people pre-registered to-date, beating the previous European attendance record of 423 set by Auto Assembly 2008 and we're still getting bookings coming in all the time... We are now convinced that we will hit the magical figure of 500 attendees that European events have wanted to reach for so long...

Booking Deadlines Updated

Even though the convention is incredibly close now, there is STILL time for you to pre-register! As we have said, the cut-off dates for pre-registrations were set a few weeks ago and are:-

Standard online bookings for weekend and one-day passes (UK):- 10th August 2009
Standard online bookings for weekend and one-day passes (International):- 3rd August 2009
Standard postal bookings for weekend and one-day passes (UK):- 5th August 2009
Standard postal bookings for weekend and one-day passes (International):- 3rd August 2009
Non-Attendee package purchases (worldwide):- 9:00 pm, 12th August 2009

So obviously for those of you living outside of the UK you need to get your bookings in VERY QUICKLY. However, for those of you who are booking for the FULL WEEKEND ONLY, we can offer you the chance to collect your passes on the Friday evening and we will send out your info packs and confirmation details electronically. This will ONLY apply to weekend pre-registrants and you must email us at the same time as booking to take advantage of this and colection of passes MUST be made on Friday 14th August. Bookings made for collection can only be taken online and must be made by no later than 9:00 pm on 12th August 2009 to allow us to produce your passes ready for collection.

Please note that these are the ABSOLUTE latest date that we can accept bookings and guarantee that your passes will reach you in time for the convention. If you book after these dates, we will do everything possible to get your passes to you before the convention takes place but please bear in mind the time taken for delivery and that we will have work pressures and we will be preparing, dismantling and packing all of our equipment for the convention on Wednesday 12th August so NO bookings will be able to be processed after 9:00 pm on that date.

We do anticipate that we will have on-the-door places available but at the moment we do not know how many of these there will be and tickets are selling very quickly at the moment. These will be announced on the website once pre-bookings close but to ensure your place pre-registration is recommended.

Hasbro Make A Return!

Yes, Hasbro are returning to Auto Assembly! Once again there will be a display from Hasbro and this time they will be sending a display along to the convention showcasing the 2009 toy range with twice as much space as they had last year! Once again, they will also be donating a huge amount of toys to the Charity Auction and Raffle...

Next Of Kins Performs Auto Assembly Official Theme Song

If you haven't read it on the website, Auto Assembly 2009 now has it's own official theme song for the convention. Written and performed by Next Of Kin who are appearing in concert at the convention on the Saturday evening doing a show of covers from the Animated movie, their song "Transform" has been chosen as the convention anthem for 2009. "Transform" was originally submitted to Paramount for inclusion in the soundtrack for Revenge Of The Fallen. To take a listen to the song, watch a music video they put together here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RuB-E1ofKQ

Copies of the song will be available to buy at the convention on CD.

More convention updates very soon... For full details on Auto Assembly 2009 and to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk

Transformers Convention News

TFWorld 2005 have posted a summary from the first Botcon panel

Just got back from the TFCC Panel, highlights below.

2 things for the end of the year, one cover for the magazine involves Derrick Wyatt

Animated Tech Specs – more planned, 5 at the end of year

Shattered Glass Quintesson Aquarius – Space Hippy, faces look like the Beatles
Shatteredverse Computron

2010 still being worked out

4 more Shattered stories

Blitzwing Bop
Transhuman
Ultimate Salvation
Bonus end of year story

Club exclusives announced tomorrow

2010 toy not ready yet but is being worked on, solid idea.

Not making any more Shatteredverse characters for now – definitely not Omega Doom for now.
Movie toys off limits for exclusives.
Got to see what happens with Animated to see if they can use the toys. Not any time soon.

Heatwave – won’t get a lot of screentime in the comic.
Nexus Maximus – a few names didn’t clear legal, one had Nexus, one had Maximus, Hasbro suggested Nexus Maximus. They ran with it. Didn’t Google it. Ooopssss…
One of the 13, no specific alignment, predates the war.

The 13 are unique over all continuities – there is only one per continuity. Unicron stays evil wherever he is.

Story ideas – not usually a problem.
Names – bit trickier to avoid infringing a mark.

Club board software getting an upgrade.
Might get a fan fiction section.

Can’t touch continuity specific characters like Drift or Mikaela.

Will be a collected edition of the year 3-4-5 comics (if Pete can talk Brian into it)

Razorclaw & Elira-1 were done as a way of covering those characters.
Didn’t want to use the Leo Prime head, didn’t know and was glad about it.

Go-Bots 5 pack – other things they’d want to do first that would sell better

Seacons story would have tied up a loose end from the Marvel comic, still hope at some point of doing it as Part 4 (1 – Crossing Over, 2 – Games of Deception, 3 – Cheap Shots, 4 - ???)

Shattered Glass – idea started as a Mirrorverse GI Joe set, threw around idea for a while, didn’t work for Joe but worked for TF

Comics

Diamond edition split cover old Kup to the left, young to the right, pretty fun looking pencils.

Holligan not Sunstorm (fooled me) but Gaihawk was correct

Sweeps planned for 2 years

Skyquake upgraded from UK bio from Super Evil to Super Evil Super Scientist

Continuity not meant to be certain, just an ambiguous continuity, made sense to leave it open. Future plans for the Elite Guard.

Leozak was originally going to speak in Japanese, way more over the top originally. Compromised with an over the top font instead of having him subtitled.

Pete is extremely happy with how the club comic came out. Look forward to the Diamond Edition content.

Landshark – homage to Steve Martin and Chevy Chase. Cow catcher burrows through the earth.

Sharkticon mold – want to use it, hard to fit it in.
