With about 12 hours past since registration for BotCon 2011was opened, BotCon have tweeted that they are over 50% sold out of the Iacon and Primus packages.
They stated that this year they made "more sets than ever", and thus far (to my knowledge) only one leaked BotCon 2011 figure (Deadend) has been seen outside of the BotCon website.
Just a quick reminder that Auto Assembly 2010 start in less than a month, on the 13th of August 2010. The event, which takes place from Friday night through Sunday at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre looks set to beat the UK Transformers attendance record, set last year. Make sure you book a place to be apart of history.
For those wondering what the toy display will be this year, you can look forward to Japanese Exclusive Generation One Toys as well as a few extra bits we may place in there as well.
We are well into the convention season now... Botcon and Nordcon are over
for another year, TFCon is just a few short weeks away and has just closed
pre-registrations, C.O.N.S in Germany is taking place at the end of the month
and Auto Assembly 2010 is fast approaching in under six weeks time and once
again is on target to be Europe's biggest ever Transformers convention...
With interest in Auto Assembly being higher than ever and bookings coming
in at a fantastic rate, we know that there are a lot of people who have already
booked their tickets for the convention. There are more first-time attendees
than ever before coming along to join us in our tenth anniversary year but if
you are planning on coming along for your first Auto Assembly convention, are
thinking of making an overseas trip for your first international event, or if
you are a regular who just hasn't booked yet then we'd recommend that you hurry
now as we have now released the booking deadlines for this year to guarantee
your places before the convention sells out!
If you haven't already booked, there is still time but in order to ensure
that everyone receives their passes in time for the convention, we have set the
following cut-off points for you to pre-register for Auto Assembly 2010 or to
order your Non-Attendee Packs should you be unable to make it to the event in
person:-
UK online bookings - 10:00 pm GMT, Monday 9th August 2010
UK postal
bookings - Monday 2nd August 2010
International online bookings - 10:00 pm
GMT, Monday 2nd August 2010
Non-Attendee Packs - 12:00 noon GMT, Wednesday
11th August 2010
Tickets for the convention are selling fast. There are plenty of full
weekend passes available still, and one day passes for the Sunday, but one day
passes for the Saturday are almost sold out! With ticket sales doing so well,
booking now, or getting a Non-Attendee Pack could be your only way of getting
this year's convention exclusive comic - the convention variant cover of IDW's

playing host to a staggering 11 guests including three guests of honour (Garry
Chalk, Scott McNeil and Derrick J Wyatt), and will feature toy and art displays,
dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area, free
workshops run by many of our guests, dedicated childrens programming, video
screenings and more! There will also be Friday and Saturday evening programmes,

A new guest for Botcon 2010 has been announced as Paul Eiding. Paul voiced Perceptor in the Generation 1 cartoon as well as more recent roles in Ben 10 and Metal Gear Soild
Things may have been quiet for a couple of weeks for Auto Assembly apart
from a few small announcements through our website. We have been busy
behind the scenes continuing to work on processing bookings, preparing
for the launch of our Non-Attendee Package and working on the first of
this year's convention exclusives which we are now proud to announce...
Following the success last year of our convention exclusive comic,
we are once again working with IDW Publishing and we will have another
convention exclusive variant cover of a forthcoming Transformers book
from IDW. This year, we are working with Transformers dealer Toyz And
Gamez (www.toysandgamez.com) who are helping to make the comic a
reality. The book is going to be Issue 9 of IDW's ongoing Transformers
comic and our convention edition will feature a new cover with artwork
from Nick Roche and colours by Liam Shalloo, both of whom will be in
attendance at Auto Assembly 2010, as will the comic's main artist Guido
Guidi!
The comic will be on sale all weekend from the Toyz And
Gamez table and will also be part of the Non-Attendee Package which will
be on sale shortly. If copies remain after the event, the comic will
also be sold online afterwards.
Visit the Auto Assembly website
now at www.autoassembly.org.uk to see a preview of the cover or to book
your tickets for the convention or learn more about the event which is
already shaping up to be the biggest Transformers convention that Europe
has ever seen!

The Botcon 2010 online registrations went live last night but with yet more glitches.
Thanks to everyone who has processed their registration. We know there
are some issues but overall, it is not too bad for code that has been
bombarded today.
Known issues:
1. The invoice counting system failed and there are many, duplicate
numbers. The numbers have NO meaning to you. Because of the duplicate
numbers, the first 100 cutoff was in the mid 1030s. We did not send
these numbers to the cc folks so don't worry that your number may be the
same as someone elses.
2. Some of you have not been getting emails. They may come later
today or maybe not at all. Email is not a 100% communication system.
When your registration is approved (after a human verifies it, you the
system will send a second email. This may not happen for several days.
3. Some of you have not been getting member pricing. A programmer
is looking at the accounts to see what the issue is. Please do not,
register if you are getting incorrect pricing as that makes more work
for the admin dept and we may not be able to get credits back to you for
a week or more.
4. Non-attending sets will not be available until next week. There
is no inventory in the online system and that's why it says sold out.
We will send out a notice when we populate the inventory. We are
holding sets back for this group as well as some of the loose figures
and we have ordered 50 more 1st 100 pins to let the non-attending
members get them.
5. As we have many issues to clean up, please don't call or email
unless you absolutely have too. We are aware of many of the issues and
will be working to clean them up. However, the more phone calls and
emails we get, the longer this will take.
Thanks for your patience and support.

Following on from the news we reported this morning Auto Assembly have sent out the following press release regarding single day passes
Auto Assembly 2010 Releases Single Day Passes
After countless requests from people wanting to register for Auto Assembly 2010, we have finally released our limited allocation of single day passes for Auto Assembly 2010! Following the success of Auto Assembly 2009 where we set a new European attendance record for a Transformers convention of 501, bookings have been coming in at an astonishing rate for 2010. By 14th March 2010 we were already up to 182 - up from 116 at the same point last year so we are on target to not only shatter this record again but we are quite possibly looking at the convention being a total sell-out!
We are now releasing a limited number of single day tickets for the Saturday and Sunday to enable those of you who can't join us for the full weekend to be able to experience Auto Assembly 2010. We are releasing just 75 tickets for each day and once these have been sold, there will be no more released!
Single day attendees will have the same access to the convention that full weekend attendees do - all the guest panels, dealers, workshops, autograph sessions, activities, and will still get the free goodie bags so you will be able to experience everything that Auto Assembly 2010 has to offer. The only things that you won't have access to is the Friday evening programme, the Saturday night party (which will have the performance by Next Of Kin, the script reading, our cosplay show and more) and there is a possibility that weekend attendees may gain early access to the convention each day.
Details of the programme, and what activities and panels will be taking place on each day can be found on the Auto Assembly website so you can choose what day is best for you. All of our guests are joining us for the full weekend and will be signing all weekend, but will only be on stage for a panel discussion ONCE so if you want to see all the Q&A sessions, then you need to attend for the full weekend!
Because of the venue size, we are restricted to a MAXIMUM of 550 people at the convention per day which can be made up of a combination of weekend and one-day attendees and once we hit that total we will be closing registrations so if you want to attend Europe's largest Transformers convention, hurry and get your tickets now!
We have frozen the prices on these from Auto Assembly 2009 and the one day tickets for either day cost for adults, for children, students or senior citizens and under 5's as always are free. However as they are limited, if you want to come along for just the day then you need to book NOW! Because of the rate that bookings are coming in, and the popularity of the one-day passes last year, we cannot guarantee that single day tickets will be available to purchase on the door.
Full weekend tickets are also on sale through the website for for adults and for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for .
The convention is celebrating 10 years of Auto Assembly events and will be taking place between Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. There will be AT LEAST eleven guests including three guests of honour (Garry Chalk and Derrick J Wyatt are already confirmed), a massive Saturday evening programme with a party, live band, costume competition and more, toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area, free workshops, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced!
