Whilst out doing some final Christmas shopping I noticed that Woolworths aer now stocking the Transformers Movie Real Gear Nigh Beat 7 toy, the blue recolour of Booster-X.
The first wave of the Real Gear Transformers toys didn't come out by us, so I was pleasently surprised to see one of the later figures make it across.
Woolworths also stock the Legends of Cybertron Transformers Movie toys, having a bucket of them. The only problem is they are all LOC Megatrons!

Thanks to Seibertron.com for pointing out another Transformers Movie Scout toy auction on Taobao, this time for Storm Surge, a repaint of the Transformers Cybertron Shortround
TRANSFORMERS® Movie Scout: STORM SURGE™
STORM SURGE is so named because of his all-encompassing approach to
combat. Allies and opponents alike rarely leave a fight in which he is
involved without being soaked in corrosive salt acid, or bathed in
jellied gasoline. During fights at sea, the water around him erupts
constantly into geysers as his depth charges roll indiscriminately into
the ocean. On land, he sprays the area around him with emitters housed
on his arms, figuring that the more destructive power he puts out, the
more likely it is he’ll take out his AUTOBOT® enemies.

Asian auction site TaoBao is featuring a new auction for a Target Exclusive Transformers Movie Basic Crosshairs toy, this time showing the bio of the character.
Armorer
and Weapons Master for the Autobots, Crosshairs is used to dealing with
some of the most dangerous technology in the galaxy. Long use has
taught him to be painstakingly methodical, but has also caused him to
be so entrenched in his systematic organizational methods that no other
Autobot could hope to find anything in the vast armory on Cybertron.
Crosshairs is so careful that he will not issue a weapon unless the
requester fills out forms detailing--in triplecate--his need.
Thanks to TFW2005 for pointing it out!

Hasbro Inc have updated Transformers.com with a release regarding news reported by fan sites. The article, which you van read in full below, states that as the news has not come from official sources, that people should treat them as rumours. The date of this release comes on the heals of the Transformers Animated press packs being sent out as well as recent reports on the Transformers Classics 2.0 figures. Since the Animated news has come direct from the studio producing the series, the most likely news to which Hasbro are referring is the Transformers Classics line. More on this in the coming weeks
"The coming year is going to be very exciting for Hasbro’s boys
properties. We realize that fans are anticipating 2008 as much as we
are, and that speculation on our line is a large part of the
excitement. Fans of Hasbro’s boys brands may be noticing some
information circulating on the web. While you may be tempted to
believe that this information is accurate, we want to remind our fans,
that unless product information or images are posted on an official
Hasbro brand site, brand Q&A, or released by Hasbro’s Corporate
Communications team, the information is not authorized and therefore
not official. We do not want to get consumer hopes up when rumors turn
out to be unfounded.
We can’t wait to share great information,
images and products with fans of all ages at the appropriate time as
determined by Hasbro and, as appropriate, our licensors."

From Variety
The Motion Picture Academy’s visual
effects branch made an unprecedented statement in support of visual
effects in animated films as it narrowed the contenders for the vfx
Oscar to 15 films that will be considered for the January “bake-off.”
The
Acad included “Ratatouille” and “Beowulf” over such effects-heavy
live-action pics as “Enchanted” and “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver
Surfer.”
The entire list of 15, in alphabetical order, is:
“Beowulf,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Evan Almighty,” “The Golden
Compass,” “Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix,” “I Am Legend,”
“Live Free Or Die Hard,” “National Treasure: Book Of Secrets,” “Pirates
Of The Caribbean: At World's End,” “Ratatouille,” “Spider-Man 3,”
“Sunshine,” “300,” “Transformers,” and “The Water Horse.”
The
Academy instituted the short list this year so that its vfx branch
could see all the contending films before selecting the seven that will
compete in the bake-off. Three of those seven will receive nominations.
