Anime News Network are reporting that it appears as if Takara Tomy are going to run a crossover series between Transformers and Evangelion with the Japanese company taking out adverts in this months hobby magazines which feature a preview of the story that the cross-over will be based on.
The idea is so obvious, it's amazing it took this long. Toy maker Takara Tomy has taken out ads in this month's hobby magazines showing Optimus Prime with a very familiar color scheme. The details of the Evangelion cross-over is still underwraps at this point, but the ad even includes its own "story":
The Angels are invading. Breaking a long silence, the mysterious life-forms known as the Angels suddenly appear. The weapons the UN forces gather together in retaliation can't even scratch them. In the end, they turn to the secret agency, NERV, to manage the anti-Angel strategy. With Neo-Tokyo 3 in their sights, the Angels slowly advance upon the city...but suddenly a spaceship comes hurtling down from the sky above the Angels: the Autobot Sky Lynx! Out of the ship emerges warriors of the far-off planet Cybertron. They've come to investigate after noticing an unusual energy reading.
"We can't let a disaster like the Second Impact occur on this planet."
"What?! What are these monsters?!"
Optimus Prime sets his sights on an enemy much bigger than himself.
The company opened a 30th anniversary site for Transformers last week and Nippon Television Network will hold the Transformers Expo in August.

Recently there was a listing found for a Rattrap Generations figure within the Wal*Mart computer system which led fans into believing that there is a Rattrap figure in the works, something the fan community was speculating about after James Roberts name-dropped the character when talking about the comic books. Well over last weekend at Roll Out Roll Call 2013 it was confirmed that designs have been produced for a Generations Rattrap figure as well as a possibly a fourth Beast Wars character. No details were given on who that additional character could be; it was more deduced from the wording that was used rather than being directly stated; though the Rattrap design is said to be based on original season one form, much like the comic art has shown, rather than the TransMetal figure. Whilst nothing was shown since the Generations Rhinox figure is turning out to be be very close to the concept design (which was shown), this should give everyone hope that the final Rattrap figure should also look close to his design which is said to be close to the animation model. It was mentioned at the show that the figure was to be revealed at NYCC though from the reports we have read online it appears that this wasn't the case.
No word on when the figure is expected to hit, but it is coming.

A personal shout-out from Simon Furman:
Okay, so, after my Bedford outing, my next port of call could be the Bewdley Book Week in (you guessed it) Bewdley (Worcs, near Kidderminster). At the moment, I’m down to do a talk on the Friday night (13th September), but honestly, right now, it’s looking a touch doubtful. Not enough bums on seats at this moment in time. If there’s enough of you out there who want to part with a fiver to hear me talk about the comics biz, my part in it, and the current wonder that is Transformers Regeneration One, then sign up soon. Otherwise, regretfully, I’ll have to pull out. Nothing worse for the old ego than talking to five people in a room built for much more. Oh, as an added incentive, there’s a book signingright after. I’ll have copies of both Transformers: Regeneration One trades (vols 1 & 2) to sign/dedicate according to your wishes. We’ll kind of look at numbers again on Monday and make a decision then, so if you want to come along sign up here, soon, and please spread the word via whatever social media networking options at your fingertips. Fingers crossed, I’ll see you there!

Thanks to Kotaku.com and Barvon Von Brunk for posting up images on his custom made Transforming Lego Nintendo N64 consol, controller and games.
I really like the controller, but the Donkey Kong cartridge transforming into an Ape is a great nod too
