"affordable"Lucky draw TF's?
I've not really bought any TF's for a while and I've been looking at things to buy...
I like stuff thats not in the usual colours and so I've been wondering about lucky draw TF's and thought I'd like to own one if only for a while "just so I had" so to speak!!

An ebay search ensued and as expected they were pricey!!

The cheapest I can see is the animated megs: (coming in at about £215 delivered)

So my questions are...
1) Is there any way to get into Lucky draw ownership thats not really expensive?
2)How do the prices of Lucky draw TF's go? I'm not after making a profit, but i'd probably want to own it for a few years and I'd hate to loose a lot of money on it!!

Cheers

1. Yes, luck. Sometimes lucky draw figures are sold loose in lots with other toys much like prototype and hardcopies. Its doesn't happen that often. Another way is to make offers to people but they still tend to be expensive.
2. In general the value of Lucky Draws have been in massive decline over the last 3-4 years (despite what some sellers will have you believe). The demand for the figures has dropped from high-end collectors as the quantity of the items has increased. Lucky Draw figures can go for anything from under 200 quid (for someone like White Moon or the Force Chip) to several thousands of pounds.

eBay is one of the most expensive ways to get Lucky Draw figures, most of the items sold on their are from collectors who are trying to sell them on for profit and put a large mark-up on. To get them cheaper you need to try to make connections outside of Auction sites, uses overseas auction sites or just get lucky and happen to find them on ebay as soon as they are listed.

The Animated figures are worth a lot less than most of the others due to the amount that was made. The Henkei figures have been faked a lot so their value is also low. The Beast Wars figures are among the most expensive along with Unicron and some other figures like Ice Magnus who rarely comes up.

Most of the figures you see for sale online are the same ones constantly changing hands.
