Lots of reports, as usual, are over the web covering the Transformers Convention BotCon. Whether you follow Twitter, Facebook or Google Plus or on the usual big Transformers websites TFW2005, Seibertron and The Allspark.
Here is a basic summary in no particular order.
Transformers 2012 Hall of Fame Winner - Wheeljack.
During the promotional video a tease for Transformers Prime Shockwave was shown.
Transformers Prime Cyberverse figures were shown off in the toy display
here's a gallery from Seibertron
San Diego Comic Con Exclusives will be Rust in Piece Terrorcon Cliffjumper (packaged in a giant Cliffjumper head) and a Fall of Cybertron Bruticus.
Hasbro Debuts Transformers SDCC Exclusives - Comics News at IGN to check out Rust In Piece Cliffjumper and the game colour FoC Bruticus!

Hasbro Talk
The highlights from today's Hasbro panel:
Masterpiece:
* US release for MP-10 - with the trailer!. Long smokestacks. TRU exclusive.
Fall of Cybertron:
* Kickback - G1/IDW-esque.
* Starscream.
* Sideswipe.
* Ultra Magnus - Optimus redeco with new head.
* Fireflight - Shockwave remould (new head).
* Voyager-class coming to Generations!
* Soundwave is the first one! Includes data disks, one of which is Laserbeak.
* Will be recoloured into Soundblaster.
* More of Soundwave's minions will be released in Legion-class.
* Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage and Ratbat will be among them.
Prime:
* Deluxe: Wave 4: Dead End, Shadow Strike Bumblebee, Airachnid. Wave 5: Kup, Rumble
* Thundertron (from the Exiles novel) is getting a toy! Voyager Wave 4. Has a beast mode.
* Cyberverse Wave 3: Wheeljack, Flamewar and a stealth Bumblebee.
* CV Commander: Ultra Magnus, Optimus Prime with swords. Vehicle Wave 2 is the alread-seen Battle Suit BB.
* To come in 2013... Legion Airachnid. Drawings shown in the presentation.
Bot Shots:
* Showing existing toys.
* Launchers: Optimus, Megatron and Ironhide.
* 3-pack: Skyquake, Jetfire, Powerglide.
SDCC exclusives:
* Bruticus - actually based on the game demo this time. Yup.
* The box is book-style (think Takara G1 reissues). Looks fantastic, by all accounts.
* Terrorcon Cliffjumper is the other exclusive. Includes a dark energon shard.
* Packaging concepts include a CR chamber, tombstone, and his own head.
That's all for the presentation, now onto the Q&A. We'll bring you any interesting tidbits that arise.
* Movie toys - still trying to find ways to distribute the remaining toys, though they acknowledge that was the problem they had in the first place. Sounds like they're moving away from the movie line for a while.
* The Thirteen - they want to introduce the characters to the public. A slow process, overall.
* Universal exclusives - only available at the parks that have the rides.
* Generations - initially this will cover Fall of Cybertron but they will move onto other media, including novels and IDW comics (yay!)
* Rumble/Frenzy - no plans for a Hasbro release, but never say never.
* FoC Dinobots - everyone will want a Grimlock. Getting all five characters into toy form might be tricky.
* Cryptic answer to the question of army builders, when asked why only the club do them. "Why just the club?"
* Classics Springer is possible, being considered for the future! No immediate plans for Arcee.
* Prime Ironhide is a non-show character. May show up in other media.
* No plans for future Animated toys. Again, never say never, but no immediate plans.
* No plans for Classics Devastator. Combiners may be considered if Bruticus is successful.
* Fun fact - repaints still have to go through quality control and other approval processes, not as cheap/straightforward as people think!
* Prime First Editions - situation was outside Hasbro's control (retailers, basically). Getting them back out there is their top priority (yay).
* Why not put them Hasbro Toy Shop? Apparently this depends on various partnerships around the world (retailers), and Hasbro don't want to jeopardise those partnerships (despite HTS being North America-only?).
In other news...
* Aaron Archer, Rik Alvarez, Bill Rawley, Jonathan Newkirk are on the panel, among others.
* Some toys will be going in the display cases afterward, so there will be pics shortly afterward.
* Brief list of things to come - theme park ride, Fall of Cybertron
* Talking about Evac, showing the Universal Studios exclusive versions.
* Other Universal exclusives: Deluxe Bumblebee, Deluxe Prime with new decos. Also Voyager Prime & Megs redecos.
* Box window is shaped like a Decepticon symbol.
Collectors Club Exclusives / Subscription Figures
* Apologies for the credit card issues.
* Presentation beginning. Promise of exciting things.
* Discussion of Invasion box set art. Idea was to make it like the original 2008 SG set.
* The full lithograph as 30+ characters; everyone that's involved in the SG vs Classics story.
* Discussing the processes involved in making the souvenir sets. Runners and the like.
* METALHAWK: Really wanted to pay homage to Pretenders' human forms, hence the human head.
* GIGATRON: Best possible with what they had to work with.
* Displaying original colour mockups now.
* Original concepts of Spinister and Octopunch now.
* On Octopunch's chest: "They're not ducks" and "This crowd knows what tentacles look like".
* Moving on to Junkions...
* Originally they were to be painted as Sharkticons. Makes more sense in-story for them to be like Insecticons though, apparently.
* "SPRAXUS", the Bard of Darkmount now.
* Figure subscription service coming!
* They had hoped for it to up and running now, but wanted to double-check security.
* No price points yet.
* Announcing figures now.
* Sign up in 3-4 weeks. Payment all up front or in three installments.
* 2 or 3 figures a month.
* Intended to replace current problems.
* Figures built to order. And they are:
* Breakdown - Classics, G1 colours based on 2010 G2 Botcon figure.
* Animated Jackpot - from Animated Jazz. Black with red windows, yellow arms, orange hood w/ orange stripes. New head.
* Scourge! G2 Prime with red windows and sword. Upside down G2 Autobot symbol
* Prime Slipstream! FE Starscream in purple and teal. New head! Prime-Animated hybrid.
* Circuit! Yes, the Euro Action Master! Yellow repaint of HFTD Axor. Red limbs, grey hood.
* Last one: Ultra Mammoth. BW Neo Bog Convoy in Laser Ultra Magnus colours! White head, blue mouthplate; mammoth is purple w/ white fur.
* Membership Figure: DEPTH CHARGE from HFTD Terradive. Blue jet, yellow hands and lower legs, purple upper arms and upper legs, yellow face on a blue head. Supposed to be pre-BW.
* All were planned from middle of last year.
* Looking at possibilities for future -- including stocking FE. Sustainability is issue -- must be able to keep doing it.
* Figures will come in better packaging. But not fancy collector boxes, unfortunately. 2-3 figures at a time. Break in between, then next batch. Will make shipping cheaper.
* Pricing will be consistent for all -- inc. shipping. One figure per subscription with a chance to order more. Service begins in next four weeks; shipping in November.

Thanks to SydneyY from TFW2005 for reporting TaTakara-Tomy has updated their website for the Transformers Prime line with information on a new Lucky Draw prize toy campaign. The top prize is a gold chrome version of the AM-01 Arms Micron Optimus Prime - other prizes include a gold Arms Micron and a voice base.
This campaign starts at the end of May. It appears to be run in a similar way as the DOTM Lucky Draw campaigns.
Prize A: Gold Optimus Prime (Voyager)
Prize B: "Talking" Figure base (voice of Optimus Prime)
Prize C: Gold ARMS Micron
Prize D: Wallpaper download
The product which will include the code required to enter the competition are Prime AM series, EZ Collection and ARMS Micron gashapon. 2 codes are needed per entry. (Gashapons only have one code for the entire line, which means you can obtain only one code no matter how many gashapons you buy, which seems fair enough considering their low price.)

TakaraTomy have update their Transformers Dark Side of the Moon (Dark of the Moon) website with a new page dedicate to two MechTech prize campaigns. The campaigns are the first Lucky Draw Transformers Dark of the Moon prize draws and starts on May 14th for with the Gold and Silver MechTech Weapons. These weapons will be made available as store exclusives, though the stores are yet to be named.
The first campaign has four prizes, with the top prize being 10 gold chrome MechTech Dark of the Moon Bumblebee. The 2nd prize is 10 double set of Transformers and Transformers Revenge on Blue-Ray, the third prize is 100 sets of the MechTech weapons with the fourth prize being a poster.
The winners of the first campaign will then be entered into a second campaign, where 100 winners will go onto receive a gold chrome Transformers Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime.
With TV Magazine seeming dropping their end of year gold chrome prize campaign, most Lucky Draws now are released as store prizes, like the recent Family Mart Transformers Animated campaigns, or as DVD tie-ins. This tends to mean that the figures are produced in higher quantities and thus sell for a lower price on the 2nd hand collectors market.

I am pleased to announce that I have updated 73 images of our
Transformers Animated Lucky Draw Optimus Prime Gold Version into an image gallery that is available both on
Transformers At The Moon and
Lucky Draw Transformers.com. The toy is officially limited to 1000 pieces, but actually 1104 were made. The gallery contains pictures of the toy in both robot and vehicle modes, comparisons to the original western Battle Damaged Optimus Prime figure as well as a couple of images of the shipping case that TakaraTomy use to send out the cases of these figures.

Our Lucky Draw Transformers Animated Optimus Prime Gold Version has now arrived, complete with TakaraTomy dispatch case. A gallery of the figure will not be added to the website tonight, but if you are a fan of the site on Facebook (www.facebook.com/transformertoys) you can see a couple of preview images right now.
I can tell you that the toy, which was suppose to be limited to 1000 pieces is actually limited to 1104. In our last news update we announced that the figure is packed 12 to the case, well there were 92 sent out by TakaraTomy so where the other 1104 figures were suppose to end up is probably the missing link that explains why so many lucky draw figures appear to be made in larger quantities than their original prize draws intend.
More on this when the gallery is published.

Another Gold Transformers Animated Optimus Prime has been listed on eBay. This is the 2nd auction in as many days from TheCrowGirl and has a Buy It Now price of $448 more than yesterdays auction which sold for $398. This is the 14th figure that we know of.
The toys were suppose to have been limited to 1000 yet they are packed in cases of 12. This means 84 cases would make 1008 toy. Therefore there will certainly not be 1000 of these toys, and its perfectly plausible that 100 cases may have been made making the toy limited to 1200 pieces.
The original campaign was run by TakaraTomy in association with Sega and Mountain Rose with 1000 names being draw at random to receive the figures with the campaign running between the 18th August and 30th September 2010.

KOToys.com have gotten their hands on some of the TakaraTomy Transformers Animated Lucky Draw Gold Deluxe Optimus Prime figures and have posted a mini gallery over on their message board. The toy is 100% legit and will be given out to 1000 winners at the end of this month, though a 12 of the toys (they are packed 12 to a case) have found their way to KOtoys. Oh and yes, you read that right 12 to a case, so that means that there will certainly not be 1000 of the items since its not a multiple of 12.

In a follow-up to the news we broke yesterday regarding the release of volume 1 of Transformers Animated on DVD in Japan, Paramount have now updated their website with more information including news that they will be holding a campaign to give away 1000 gold chrome Optimus Prime dexlue figures. Yes that's right a DVD Lucky Draw prize much like Black Fire Convoy. A gold deluxe Optimus Prime figure, as well as a gold Voyager were two of our predicted three lucky draw toys that TV Magazine will announce at the end of the year. This could still be the case as DVD figures have been re-used in subsequent campaigns in the past, though it does make the inclusion of the deluxe figure in a magazine competition less likely.
To qualify for the prize draw you need to send in 1 x barcode from a Transformers Animated Toy box (or 4 barcodes
from EZ collection toys vol.3 and 4), 5x Sega cards and the token from Transformers Animated DVD.

We have updated both Lucky Draw Transformers.com and Transformers At The Moon with a full image gallery of the Hong Kong exclusive Lucky Draw Gold Leader Class Transformers Movie Optimus Prime.
This, we believe, is the worlds first full image gallery of the latest Lucky Draw Transformers figure to be released. The gallery contains 61 images of the figure, including comparisons to the two Lucky Draw Gold Transformers Movie Voyager Optimus Prime figures that we own (who's gallery was also recently updated with new images of the figure in the box as well as information on the variant that we own).
The terminology, Lucky Draw, refers to a competition prize draw, where
winners are selected by random. Lucky Draw Toys are the prizes given
away, usually these are very limited. Lucky Draw Campaigns are run in Japan usually by magazines. The main
magazine which runs Lucky Draw competitions is Telebi Magazine (TV
Magazine). Bom-Bom Magazines and Comic Bom-Bom also run Lucky Draw
campaigns. In later years TV Boy also run prize draw campaigns as did
DVD production companies and some stores. Hasbro UK also gave away
hardcopy Transformers Animated toys in a competition, where winners
were choosen at random. Meanwhile Hasbro Hong Kong gave away 10 gold Movie
Optimus Prime statues to people who spent over a certain amount of
money at a convention. Although this meant the figure isn't a Lucky
Draw toy, most fans count it as one due to it's appearance.
LuckyDrawTransformers.comis the internets only dedicate Lucky Draw resource site. The website was initially launched in April 2006 and was relaunched with a new look and message board in August 2008. It remains the best place to view and find out more about the various Transformers Lucky Draw items that have been released, as well as now containing image scans from various Japanese hobby magazines. All of this information is available on the sites parent-site, Transformers At The Moon, however due t the shear size of "The Moon", the information is not as easy to access.
We hope you enjoy this first full look at the latest Lucky Draw figure to be released, and do not forget to check back with us over the coming week, as we have more Lucky Draw figures to share with you.
