So Botcon is taking place this weekend over in the United States whilst the Toyko Toy Show is taking placed in Japan at the same time, so here is a round-up of the news so far:

BOTCON

The additional figures for this years set turned out to be General Optimus Prime, Sergeant Hound, Diaclone Skidz (Burnout), Diaclone Hoist (Lift Ticket), The Waruders 4-Pack with the Custom Class figure being Galva-Leo Convoy a recolour of the Collectors Club exclusive figure based on the original "Lucky Draw" figure of the same name.

Transformers Titan Wars - This will be the toyline following on from the Combiner Wars theme and sees the return of the Headmasters to the main Transformers line.  Wireframe outlines were shown, drawn by Emiliano Santalucia (going by his Facebook reaction), which include Blaster (now a Headmaster), Astrotrain (a triple changer headmaster) and Fortress Maximus (a re-tool of Metroplex wtih both Cerebros and Spike much like the original toy / character).  More is expect to be announced on this over the weekend.

TOKYO TOY SHOW

Meanwhile in the other big news was being announced. 

Masterpiece Ironhide was confirmed and shown. The figure, as you would expect from the Masterpiece line, is very muhc designed on the animated series and will come with a whole host of weapons and accessories.  You can expect a Ratchet repaint and, most likely, a black "Diaclone" version later (in our opinion).

Masterpiece Optimus Primal / Gorilla Convoy - Masterpiece is going Beast Wars! To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars, 2016 is going to see the Masterpiece line cover that incarnation of Transformers start off with the Maximal leader Optimus Primal. A mock-up was shown in beast form which you can view below.

Also shown at the event were Unite Warriors Devastator, this is the Japanese release of the Combiner Wars Devastator set with Scrapper, Long Haul, Hook and Mixmaster all being remoulded to include elbow articulation unlike the Western release.  The toy will also be released with two heads meaning that you'll be able to re-create the standard US and SDCC looks

TakaraTomy have unveiled the prototype for the upcoming Masterpiece Star Saber figure at the 2014 Tokyo Toy Show. The figure, which of course won the Fan's Choice Poll, will be available later in the year andhas so far only been photographed in robot mode.

The Tokyo Toy Show is on in Japan and TakaraTomy are showing off their 2014 releases including the Transformers: Lost Age figures, Transformers Cloud, Transformers Legends as well as the Masterpiece line.  PHotographs from the event are hitting the internet and so we have mirrored some which can be viewed by clicking on the headline.

The show highlights include Masterpieces Ultra Magnus and Evangelion Convoy as well as Transformers Cloud Rodimus and Shockwave.

Over the last few weeks there have been rumblings that a Blue MP-18 Bluestreak figure was coming and now it looks like the figure will be this years Tokyo Toy Show exclusive and will come with 2 missile launches.

Youtube user kbigstonehas posted some rare footage that was recorded at the 1983 Tokyo Toy Show. This event is very important in the history of the Transformers line as it was at this show that representatives from Hasbro Inc spotted Takara's exhibit of both their Diaclone and Micro Change toy lines which started the process that lead to the creation of the Transformers.  Whilst the quality of the footage is not great in places, it does feature both of these Takara lines being displayed.

TakaraTomy have announced that the newest addition to the Masterpiece family will by Generation 2 Sideswipe.  The figure is more than just a black repaint of MP Lambor, as he will be a retool with new weapons and tyres.

In addition to this announcement at the Tokyo ToyShow, TakaraTomy also announced that as a part of their 30th anniversary celebrations of the Transformers line they will be holding a "Fan's Choice" poll to decide which Cybertron (Autobot) leader should be made into a Masterpiece Figure.  The choices are:

Fortress Maximus, God Ginrai (Powermaster Optimus Prime), Star Saber, Dia Atlas, Beast Convoy (Optimus Primal), Lio Convoy, Big Convoy, Fire Convoy (RiD Optimus Prime), Super Convoy (Armada Convoy), Grand Convoy (Superlink Convoy) or Galaxy Convoy (Cybertron Convoy).  you can view some images from the event below thanks to Twitter users GENgoraw, ripetakobozu and MORILEO0814

Snakas has updated his website with some more images from the Tokyo Toy Show which includes a very nice look at all of the Arms Micron figures and upcoming Japanese Transformers Prime releases.  Check them out here.

Thanks to Planet Iacon we can bring you a collection of images of new toys which were revealed at the Tokyo Toy Show.  The images, which can be viewed below, include AM-15 Dark Megatron, Terrorcon Bumblebee, Battle Shield Optimus Prime, the Jet Vehicon and a Voyager class Starscream figure from all from Transformers Prime. On a Lucky Draw side, the gold Transformers Prime Optimus Prime figure was shown along with his microns.

Also shown at the event were Masterpiece Starscream, Soundwave, Sideswipe and Red Alert.  As we all know now, Soundwave comes with several cassettes but what was shown at the event was that Red Alert comes with "short-circuit sparks" which clip onto his head in robot form. Takara Tomy have updated their website with images of this years Tokyo Toy Show exclusives.  The event, which is being held June 16-17 in Tokyo Japan features two exclusive Transformers a crystal (clear coloured) version of Transformers Prime Optimus Prime and a Black Henkei Convoy called Nemesis Prime. Both figures are limited to two per attendee with the toys priced at ¥5,000 each.

Autobase Aichi have posted some new images of the Lawson Exclusive Battle Blade Optimus Prime figure as well as Transformers United Darkside Optimus Prime and Megatron.� All of the figures are recolours of their original release, with the figures currently being Japanese exclusives.

The Cyber-Gundam blog have also posted more images from the event including the MP-10 Convoy, the "Bathing Ape" exclusive G1 Optimus Prime in camo colours and more which you can find here.

TakaraTomy have updated their Official Transformers website some new information and pages.� The updates are:

1. A page dedicated to the upcoming Tokyo Toy Show exclusive Transformers United Dark Side Optimus Prime & Dark Side Megatron toys.

2. �They also have information on another toy that will be available for pre-ordering at the event on the 16th and 17th June 2011, �Transformers Dark Side Moon DA-15 Jetwing Optimus Prime.� This toy will actually be released in July 2011.

3. They have also announced that the latest Masterpiece toy, MP-10 New Convoy will be shown off at the event.

4. Finally, they have added page dedicated to the Lawson exclusive Transformers: Dark Side Moon Dark Side Optimus Prime.

�With the Tokyo Toy Fair almost over, Japanese blogger ?????2010 (Alfes2010) has posted some more images from the event.� The images include Lucky Draw Gold Optimus Prime, as well as Welcome to Transformers 2010 Primus.� Also included on his blog are images of Masterpiece Movie Starscream and a Transformers Animated Bumblebee Cosplayer.
