Eight Weeks Until Auto Assembly 2012

It's hard to believe that we are now just eight weeks away from Auto Assembly 2012, Europe's Largest Transformers Convention. It feels as if Auto Assembly 2011 has barely been behind us, but with the convention nearly upon us we wanted to give everyone a reminder that the convention is fast approaching and that tickets are selling faster than ever this year and that we are on target for a total sell out!

We're now entering our "rush period" for ticket sales - the time of the year where we traditionally sell over 50% of our tickets for Auto Assembly - so if you haven't already booked up, now is the time so you don't miss out. With seventeen guests, our biggest ever line-up of dealers, a massive new four-star venue, great free gifts for attendees including a magazine, lithograph and comic, what more could you ask for?

Auto Assembly 2012 is located in Birmingham in the centre of the UK so it's easy to get to from all parts of the country. If you are travelling from anywhere in Europe, there are affordable flights from most of Europe to Birmingham International Airport (which is on the same site as the convention hotel) and for those of you who are travelling from further afield, flights to the UK are a lot more affordable than you might think...

Registration for the full weekend (which includes access to EVERY part of the convention including all our workshops, panels and free autographs with no additional charges) is just £45 for adults and hotel accommodation is just £50 a night for a single room or £60 for a twin or double making the convention affordable for everyone!

We'll be bringing you a lot more updates over the next few weeks as the convention draws closer including great news about our displays, dealers, the cosplay competition and we'll be announcing the return of our Non-Attendee Package for those of you who can't make it. We may even be bringing you some news about Auto Assembly 2013...

More information has become available now on the upcoming Masterpiece Lambor (Sideswipe) figure, thanks to a better image of the recent solicitation.  The images contains the following Japanese paragraphs which talks about how the figure is licensed by Lamborghini who will be overseeing the paint applications to ensure they are correct,that the toy will fit inside the trailer of MP-10 Convoy and that he comes with the following accessories:

1. Piledrivers - Yes as seen in the Generation One cartoon
2. Flare Gun
3. Missile Launcher

3rd Party group Perfect Effect recently teased fans on their blog of a possibly planned remold of Perfect Effects Motorbot (Arcee) into Blackarachnia, using the Transformers Animated colours.

The Transformers Facebook page revealed the third and final Insecticon yesterday for Transformers Fall of Cybertron  This time Shrapnle is shown off, under his new name of Sharpshot

Tagoal Blog have posted an extensive image gallery of the wave one Transformers Prime Arms Micron capsule toys Optimus Prime (who becomes a gun), Bumblebee (who is a sword), Gob ( the black and pink cobra) and Zad (the black and pink lizard.  Click the link to check out the full images or click read more to view a mirror of several of them.

There is one other image that was posted on 4Chan which shows the figures combined into a quasi-robot form which you can view below.

Our thanks go out to Duckstar for letting us know that he spotted the Cyberverse Ironhide figure for sale in Tescos earlier this afternoon, so if you are after the figure he just got a lot easier to find.

The Planet Iacon have shared an image from weibo.com/botcon which shows some new re-colours of the third party Targetdoids of Optimus Prime and Rodimus in their Shattered Glass colour schemes from Botcon.  You can view the image below and can compare them to the original Botcon figures using our Transformers Toy Gallery section.

Youtuber Optibotimus has posted a video review of Transformers The Ride exclusive Evac figure. The toy, which is deluxe class, will be given away and is sure to bring in some money on the 2nd hand market. You can watch the review below.

Full Metal Hero user foxdie has scanned a magazine article showing off an image of Transformers Fall of Cybertron Metroplex

Tudou.com has uploaded a video of the highly anticipated, and very much delayed, Igear Weapon Specialist prototype. This video demonstrates the figures weapons and how all of them will interact with the figure. His sawblade attachment, movie-esque cannons, sniper rifle, bazooka and knife are all shown here. July 15th is the most recent release date given from Igear

Planet Iacon have posted and image, thanks to Toys2Mail Station, of the upcoming Walmart exclusive "Ultimate Giftset" which features two deluxe class  and two Legions class figures.  Release in Q3 of this year, the toys are Generation 2 Jazz (a recolour of from Reveal the Shield Jazz), Combat Hero Optimus Prime (from RTS Optimus Prime), Motormaster (also from RTS Legend Optimus Prime) and Thundercracker (from RTS Legend Starscream).  You can view the image below.

Meteor Operations Facebook page has updated with a full gallery of the soon to be released Iron Army from third party group, TFC Toys. This gallery shows off all four figures from the two sets in very nice close up detail.

TakaraTomy have issued a press release of their forcoming colaboration with the ice cream manufacturer IceCandy on the upcoming GariRobo figure.  Gari is the mascott for Ice Candy and the figure is a cross between him and Transformers Prime Optimus Prime, only rather than transforming into a truck he transforms into ..... an ice lolly.  The toy is available in two "flavours" regular and Cola, cost 1890yen and is out this month. Last weekend saw the MCN London Expo take place here within the UK.  During the event on Saturday Jagex held a panel regarding Transformers: Universe.  Whilst we were in attendance at the event we missed the panel as we were at Nickelodeons panel on the 2012 TMNT show at the same time.  However thanks to YouTuber Apollon1 you can watch a video of the event below.
