Since the recent announcement that Wal*Mart have the exclusive rights to release the iMax version of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen on Blu-Ray and DVD and news that Nelson, admin of Michael Bay's website would be selling the DVD to international sellers which excluded certain countries including the UK, we have been in contact with ASDA to try to confirm which version of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen they would be releasing within the UK.  ASDA are, of course, owned by Wal*Mart.  After some confusion their support staff told me that "The version that we are selling is the same version as the wall mart one" (yes with that typo).  What this means is that UK fans that wish to own the full cut of Revenge of the Fallen should make sure that they pick up a copy of the film from ASDA.

Transformers and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen writer Roberto Orci has confirmed that both himself and Alex Kurtzman will not be returning to write the third Transformers movie.   Roberto posted news over on Don Murphy's message board,   He went on to comment that Ehren Kruger will be taking over fully for the third movie, assuring fans that Mr Kruger knows his Transformers whilst making comment to some of the more adult tones that were included in the previous fil.

Orci and Kurtzman will be focusing on the second reimagined Star Trek movie instead.

ToyNewsMagazine are reporting that US toy sales dropped by three percent for the period August 2008 to August 2009.

The figures from NPD also show that sales were down two per cent year-to-date for the first eight months.

Some categories did see sales rises. Building Sets  were up 21 per cent, Action Figures and Accessories seven per cent and Arts and Crafts four per cent.

Reports are in that video streaming sites and Torrent sites such as Ninjavideo.net already have supposed "DVD Rips" of both "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" AND "GI-Joe - The Rise of Cobra". Usually, online copies of films are poorly-recorded "cam" copies, "screeners" (made for review or editing purposes and sent to journalists, and other associated parties) or in the case of DVD-rips, copies of DVDs shortly as they come out for either rental or commercial DVD purchase. The ROTF copies have reportedly already been out since September. Will this affect sales of Bay's blockbuster or will fans still buy the film legit?

UK fans will probably ask why.  Why are they being excluded when Ireland is being included within the list?  Well the answer is probably a simple one ... Walmart owns ASDA, therefore the DVD is likely to be released within the UK, at some-point as an ASDA exclusive.  However we have been, as yet, unable to have this officially confirmed by either ASDA or Paramount Pictures but we are working on it.

It's looking like the Transformers: Alternity line is not yet dead and that the next releases in the line after Bumblebee and Cliffjumper will be the Autobot brothers from Generation One, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe!  Why doe it look this way, you ask, well take a quick trip over to TakaraTomy's website and you will see that there is a Lamborghini silhouette that has been added to the page.

Nelson, the admin of Michael Bay's website and message board, has posted the following update regarding the DVD and Blu-Ray released of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen that will contain the extra footage shown at the Imax.

"I spoke to Paramount today and here's the lowdown on the Imax TF2 release:

Walmart will have exclusive rights on selling the ROFT (w/ Imax) on DVD and Blu-ray."

There is no word on how this will affect non-US releases of the film

Michael Bay has posted an announcement confirming that the third Transformers live action movie will be released on July 1st 2011 less than 2 years time.

Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.
