Private equity firm Texas Pacific Group has acquired a 14.07 per
cent stake in Tomy becoming the firm's second-largest shareholder. Under the agreement, TPG will purchase 7 billion yen ($60 million) in
convertible bonds with share warrants that Tomy will issue to TPG
through a third-party allocation.

Seibertron report that the website for Australian cinema chain Greater Union Cinemas has been updated to show a release date for the Transformers Movie of the 28th June 2007.

Though not Transformers related, G.I-Joe AKA Action Force is another Hasbro line that many of us enjoy. Well after a long gap there is finally more news regarding the live action G.I-Joe movie, of which the original screenplay was reported of the highest quality. IESB.net have an quick interview with Lorenzo di Bonaventura during the press day for Shooter, in which di Bonaventura said that they (the sutdio) will start working on G.I-Joe immediately after they finish working on Transformers. di Bonaventura also revealed that he has Shooter star Mark Wahlberg in mind to play the role of Duke. When IESB followed up with Mark he basically confirmed himself as playing the role and is quotes as saying "You know what, I'll do whatever Lorenzo wants me to do; it really depends on the script, obviously, but it's a cool idea. He says it's going to be kick ass, so yeah. But he's already putting that out there, so who knows. He knows how to get me to say 'yes.'"
