Fuyoh!.net are reporting a that Takara are working with Micott and Basara, Inc to produce a CG Transformers movie for Japan and abroad in 2006. This should be treated as a rumour at this stage. They also report that

Inland Empire Strikes Back caught up with Tom Hanks during the premiere of Raise Your Voice starring Hilary Duff and asked him acotu the rumuors linking Tom to the new Transformers Movie. Mr Hanks says this is the first time he has heard of these rumors but would find a part in the movie interesting, and jokingly added, as long as he gets to be Optimus Prime. Treat this very much as a rumour, but Ain"t it Cool have an article that claims that Dreamworks have picked up the rights to produce the movie for a 2006 release date beating out New Line. It reports that "The word behind the scenes is that Hasbro was leaning towards New Line, till Dreamworks" 2 Billion Dollar Gorilla, Steven Spielberg got in a plane and flew out to Rhode Island to personally meet with Hasbro"s team and to dangle the, if we have this, I may direct it, golden carrot. After which Hasbro agreed to Dreamworks getting the project."
