TFW2005 have a rumour that both the US and Japanese versions of the Transformers Masterpiece 10 Convoy / Optmus Prime will be released in the US.  Though this seems very unlikey here's what they have to say.

An interesting piece of news has been sent our way by 2005 Boards member Movie PRIME. He has heard from a Hasbro customer services representative that the new version of Masterpiece Optimus Prime, the domestic release of Takara-Tomy's MP-10 Convoy Version 2, will be available more widely than was originally speculated, and will potentially be carried by K-Mart, Target and Wal-Mart as well as Toys R Us.

ACToys has posted up a nice comparison of the Japanese Transformers Masterpiece 10 Convoy by TakaraTomy and the Transformers Masterpiece MP10 Optimus Primeb by Hasbro.

The gallery clearly shows the lighter, more cartoon colours, of the American version.

2 brand new in hand images of the upcoming Hasbro MP10 have surfaced on Facebook via Planet Iacon.

Kapow Toys have put up pre-orders for the both Transformers: Prime wave deluxe, as well as the Transformers Generations: Fall of Cybertron wave 1 figures.  Wave 4 of Transformers Prime has a UK street date of September 2012 with the case bfreakdown being 2x Ironhide, 1x Rumble, 1x Arachnid, 1x Dead End, 1x Bumblebee, 1x Hot Shot and 1x Knock Out.  The Fall Of Cybertron release date is the 22nd August 2012 with their case breakdown being 3x Optimus, 3x Jazz and 2x Shockwave.

The Japanese Transformers blog, Tagoal, have posted a full image gallery and review of the limited Transformers Works: Garri-Robo "grape edition" toy.  Gari-Robo is a cross between Convoy (Optimus Prime) and Gari, the sponsor of the Gari brand of ice lollies with the grape edition being the third release of the figure this year and is limited to only 1000 pieces.  You can view a couple of selected images below with more images available after the jump and even more if you click the link at the start of this aritcle.

Vice President of Hasbro Designs, Mr Aaron Archer, has confirmed during SDCC that there are presently no plans to release the Transformers PRime Breakdown toy in the west.  This means that if you wish to own this figure, you will have to import the Japanase Arms Micron figure.

"The company knows that the mold is available, says Aaron Archer, the Vice President of Hasbro Design, but was "not made to the same standards."

He did not elaborate on this, but he claims that the figure is in "no man's land" cost-wise, so it may be that converting the Arms Micron ports may be too costly for the company.

Mr. Archer continues the Hasbro has to consider many things, including the aforementioned cost issues and "what people want in the U.S. and global market.""

Japanese retailer Toy Hobby Market has announced two Transformers Alternity exclusives as the Nissan Fairlazy Z Galvatron and Okamora Orochi Banzaitron. Each of the figures are due in September and are priced at 6,825 Yen (~$86 USD).
