Kapow Toys have posted over on TFW2005 that the upcoming Transformers Animated 2-packs of Optimus Prime and Blackarachnia and Megatron and Prowl, will both be Walmart exclusives in the US. Both Prime and Megatron will still be the battle damaged versions. Also they report that Shockwave and Skywarp are set to ship at the end of October / start of November within the US.
Here is the text from the back of the box of the two double packs.
The Revenge of Blackarachnia
Long ago Optimus Prime was
forced to abandon Blackarachnia in the caverns beneath the surface of an alien
world. There she found herself surrounded by a terrifying horde of bizarre
spiders and she was forced to reformat herself based on the strange organism to
survive. The experience twisted her and drove her away from the autobots and
left her with an undying desire for revenge on the former ally who left her to
her fate. She has come to earth in search of Optimus Prime and she will not stop
until she has destroyed him and everything he holds dear.
Battle In Space
In Space over a strange
alien world Megatron carves his way through the hull of the autobot spaceship
with his fusion cannon. Inside Prowl and his fellow autobots wait, knowing there
is very little chance of defeating the Decepticon leader in a fight. Prowl knows
his only chance is through stealth and skill. When it comes time to meet the
mighty Megatron in combat he relies on his holographic projectors and speed to
avoid being hit whilst tagging his opponent with every combat technique he
knows. Unfortunately even his most powerful attacks bounce off the invincible
armour of the Decepticon tyrant.

Derrick Wyatt, Art Director/Lead Character Designer for Transformers Animated, has posted some images on his blog showing some of the design concepts that he used for Transformers Animated Prowl prior to settling on the final design. As well as the images Derrick reveals that it has already been decided that Prowl would be a motorbike before he came on-board with the series, that he had originally had him coloured more like the black and white G1
version, but since Ratchet was already going to be primarily white, and the
ninja aspect of the new Prowl's character was going to be played up, they
decided to go with the black, gold and tan theme. Derrick also mentions that Eric Siebenaler from Hasbro and Alex Kubalski from Takara requested that they move Prowl's wheels from his shoulders to his legs as it helped blend his design with "a really amazing transformation idea"
that Alex had been working on for a motorcycle Transformer.
If you look closely on the image you will see that it is dated 2003, giving you some indication of when the work on Transformers Animated first began.

The 127th issue of Figure King magazine was released today in Japan and includes article on Transformers Encore Metroplex, the Suntory Limited coffee boss campaign figures, Transformers Henkei Prowl, Sunstreaker and Galvatron, the heavily delayed Binaltech Convoy, Alternity Convoy, Transformers Crossovers and an article on the TransformArt exhibitions.
The article on Encore Metroplex covers the history of the character including pictures from Scramble City and the G1 cartoon, as well as highlighting the mould difference on the tank turrent (Slammer). The article also confirms, once again, that the toy will be the chromed legged rubber wheeled version.
The Suntory Limited coffee boss campaign figures, which we first reported on the 18th August, are highly cartoon accurate non-transforming figures, think back to the SCF toys, and like those have chase figures, the chrome toys, of which the parts will be spread over a few cans.
Images are published in the issue of the Transformers Henkei Prowl and Sunstreaker figures. The images are of the Japanese versions and not the US figures. The toys are due out in October, and the magazine announces that Galvatron will be the next Transformers Henkei toy released after these toys, with a picture of his head being published.
This issue of Figure King states that the much delayed Binaltech Convoy figure will finally be released in Japan on the 2nd October 2008. Previously the figure had been reported as being released at the end of September via he TakaraTomy Generation One website.
The article on the Alternity GT-R figure publishes the prototype image which was recently seen on the internet. It also states that the automatic transformation system has been dubbed "Synchronized Tec" in a similar way to the "Automorph Technology" Hasbro use on the Transformers Movie toys. No information was published concerning the name of the character, the retail price or the release date.
Credit goes to Snakas for the original report.
