Transformers Convention NewsBotcon.com has been updated today with the official 2010 convention brochure! In addition to already-announced Spark and Breakdown, the Generation Two-themed convention set will feature the Protectobot Streetwise and Decepticon Clench. And also a surprise inclusion, the Robots in Disguise Predacon and perhaps the most well-known poet in all of Transformers lore, Skybyte!

If I may compose a haiku in honor of this news:

Poor frustrated shark
Has never had an homage
How could I refuse?

Transformers Convention NewsThe 2nd Botcon exclusive figure has officially been named and shown and is a recolour of the Transformers Universe Sideswipe / Sunstreaker toy as Generation 2 Breakdown.  You can view images of the toy on the Botcon website here and here.  This will be the third time Breakdown is an exclusive Botcon figure.  The first time being in 1994 when some of the unreleased G2 toys were given away then ten years later in 2004 a non-official reproduction of Action Master Sideswipe was recoloured and remoulded into Action Master G2 Breakdown.  So this is the 2nd time that a Sideswipe mold has been recoloured with a new head to make Breakdown.

Transformers Convention News

Following on from the news we reported this morning Auto Assembly have sent out the following press release regarding single day passes

Auto Assembly 2010 Releases Single Day Passes

After countless requests from people wanting to register for Auto Assembly 2010, we have finally released our limited allocation of single day passes for Auto Assembly 2010! Following the success of Auto Assembly 2009 where we set a new European attendance record for a Transformers convention of 501, bookings have been coming in at an astonishing rate for 2010. By 14th March 2010 we were already up to 182 - up from 116 at the same point last year so we are on target to not only shatter this record again but we are quite possibly looking at the convention being a total sell-out!

We are now releasing a limited number of single day tickets for the Saturday and Sunday to enable those of you who can't join us for the full weekend to be able to experience Auto Assembly 2010. We are releasing just 75 tickets for each day and once these have been sold, there will be no more released!

Single day attendees will have the same access to the convention that full weekend attendees do - all the guest panels, dealers, workshops, autograph sessions, activities, and will still get the free goodie bags so you will be able to experience everything that Auto Assembly 2010 has to offer. The only things that you won't have access to is the Friday evening programme, the Saturday night party (which will have the performance by Next Of Kin, the script reading, our cosplay show and more) and there is a possibility that weekend attendees may gain early access to the convention each day.

Details of the programme, and what activities and panels will be taking place on each day can be found on the Auto Assembly website so you can choose what day is best for you. All of our guests are joining us for the full weekend and will be signing all weekend, but will only be on stage for a panel discussion ONCE so if you want to see all the Q&A sessions, then you need to attend for the full weekend!

Because of the venue size, we are restricted to a MAXIMUM of 550 people at the convention per day which can be made up of a combination of weekend and one-day attendees and once we hit that total we will be closing registrations so if you want to attend Europe's largest Transformers convention, hurry and get your tickets now!

We have frozen the prices on these from Auto Assembly 2009 and the one day tickets for either day cost for adults, for children, students or senior citizens and under 5's as always are free. However as they are limited, if you want to come along for just the day then you need to book NOW! Because of the rate that bookings are coming in, and the popularity of the one-day passes last year, we cannot guarantee that single day tickets will be available to purchase on the door.

Full weekend tickets are also on sale through the website for for adults and for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for .

The convention is celebrating 10 years of Auto Assembly events and will be taking place between Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. There will be AT LEAST eleven guests including three guests of honour (Garry Chalk and Derrick J Wyatt are already confirmed), a massive Saturday evening programme with a party, live band, costume competition and more, toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area, free workshops, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced!

For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at www.autoassembly.org.uk

We hope to see you all in August 2010.

The first of the exclusive Botcon 2010 figures has now been revealed.  the toy is a recoloured version of the Transformers Universe Inferno toy in the colour scheme of the European Exclusive Pyro.

The Generation Two figure of Pyro was released under the name Pyro in the UK and Spark in the rest of Europe, and its' his European name which is being used for the BotCon figure Autobot Spark.

The European exclusive figures were released in both G1 and G2 packaging.

Autobot Spark - Botcon 2010 Exclusive figure

From 1984 to 2006, Earth was the biggest, baddest battlefield of the Great War. But after the Rebirth, Galvatron and the Nebulan Lord Zarak beat it, takin' the fight to Nebulos and other civilized worlds beyond. Sure 'nuff, Optimus Prime and the rest were right on their afterburners, leaving only a skeleton crew to man Autobot City against future Decepticons attacks.

As we fought across space a new generation of Transformers arose on Earth, boosted by experimental human and Nebulan science and given the spark of life through technology reverse-engineered from Vector Sigma. Ol' Terra Firma was home to a whole new "Second Generation" led by an Autobot who sees this planet not only as a place to defend, but as the place he considers home!

While things were pretty peaceful for a time, we all know that can only last for so long. And now, through the magic of the Cybernet space cube, the BotCon enhanced stories of the Transformers...Generation 2: Redux!

That's right, Generation 2 returns! While we usually reveal the names of each character in the BotCon brochure, we have decided to give you your first sneak peak right here with..."Autobot Spark," Leader of the Generation 2 Autobots
