We"ve just had word that our orders for the Prototype Astrotrain have now shipped from Japan (along with a few Universe toys which we ordered for ourselves).
You will note that the e-Hobby Go-Bots are
not shipping with this order from e-Hobbies, as they were not originally due until the end of February.

One thing Takara do even more than Hasbro is dish out re-colours at
every possible opportunity. The Super Link line is no exception as TFWorld 2005
show with their article on the Black Hole and Aquamarine Battle Axes.

As always there are debates over which toys are better, the US or Japanese
versions. In the past the Japanese versions have always been more detailed (and
in many cases more "show accurate"). This does not appear to be the
case with Energon though.
Having compared some pictures yesterday with the Super Link trailer you can
see that the Energon 'white chest Prime' reflects the show, rather than the
red chested Convoy.
The same can be said about Scorponok and Mega Zarak, with the Japanese version
being all green (or at least the prototype).
One thing to keep in mind is that Takara are often the actual designers of
the toys (as shown with the recent Masterpeice Prime designer interview) even
though Hasbro took the credit. It will be interesting to see which toys the
fans favour.

Due to my workload at work, the news might be delayed this week. It'll
be added, just later in the day than normal.

The old news submission bug has crept back in recently, hence the lack
of credit against news. The live version is only a beta of the offline news
code. The full version will not be released until Project Fullmoon has been
completed. However, i'll sort out this bug
