Cybetron.ca are reporting that Canadian retailer Sears is breaching the release dates for the Transformers Dark of the Moon figures by putting them on the shelves right now.
"Reports have started coming in that Transformers Dark of the Moon
movie toys are being spotted already at retail locations in Canada. It
would appear that Sears is jumping the gun and putting figures out
earlier than the shelf date of May 16th. These sightings are happening
in Sears St Laurent (Ottawa) where the first wave of legends class were
found, and at the Sears St-Bruno (Quebec) where the first wave of DOTM
deluxe figures, voyager class and cyberverse were on shelves. Thanks to
Cybertron.ca members Obliterator999 and Saundowaivu for the reports.
Although they shouldn't be for another 2 weeks, find out if any Dark of the Moon toys are being found in your area in our Canadian Transformers Sightings forum." reports Super Megatron
Thanks to a Taobao auction we can bring you 23 new images of the upcoming translucent Transformers Dark of the Moon Bumblebee figure. You can view the images below.
Million Publishing, the company behind the Generations Books, have announced that their exclusive mail-away figure for the Transformers Generations 2011 book will be none other than Transformers United Stepper. The figure is a recolour of the Transformers United / Reveal The Shield Jazz complete with Nightstick targetmaster. The toy is based on the Stepper figure from the Transformers Headmasters line.
"This has yet to be confirmed directly by Hasbro but Forbidden Planet UK
have listed the following prices via their wholesale arm as the official
price points, the wholesale prices supplied which we cannot give out
would back up this price point if retailers are to make any money
1) Deluxe - Ł14.99
2) Voyager - Ł29.99
3) Leader - Ł59.99
4) Cyberverse Ark set - Ł44.99
5) Cyberverse Legends Basic - Ł5.99
6) Cyberverse Scouts - Ł12.99
Now this seems like a crazy move on Hasbros part if true, especially
after retailing RTS between - Ł10.95 - Ł12.95 on the domestic market."
I a move which would make Hasbro happy, TakaraTomy have asked some Japanese resellers to stop stocking 3rd Party Products (unlicenced items sold as Transformers). One such retailer, Red Murcury, has cancelled all pre-orders of particular items after receving notification form TakaraTomy to stop selling 3rd party products due to copyright and trademark violations.
With the devasation caused by the Tsunami and both recent earthquakes in Japan, this move would help protect legitimate Japanese business, at a time that their country and economy needs it.
It will be interesting to see what other steps are taken. Will TakaraTomy look to stop more items, what does this mean for the WonderFest (though they are all licenced goods) and will Hasbro start to try and stop US retailers from stock the non-official and unlicensed items (with the run up to Transformers: Dark of the Moon and it's impending increase on Transformers sales).
The following items appeared on TakaraTomy's list
It brings me great pleasure to be able to kick off what should be an exciting Spring and Summer to visitor of Transformers At The Moon with three new Transformers Toys image galleries. Being a European based website we felt that it would only be fitting to kick off our "Summer Special" as the Transformers community builds towards the release of Transformers: Dark of the Moon by adding three galleries of European exclusive figures.
First up, we have added an image gallery of Motorvator Gripper. This image gallery contains comparison images to Brainmaster Blacker as well images showing him combined with both Braver and Laster.
The second and third galleries are of something a little special and yet also related to the Motorvator Gripper gallery. What are they? Well they are image galleries of a paint-sample of Motorvator Flame and an image gallery of a paint-sample of Motorvator Lightspeed! What is a paint-sample, you may be asking yourself, well when Hasbro decide to recolour a figure with a different colour scheme, hand-paint a mock-up version using the existing figures mold. In this case Hasbro Europe took the Japanese Brainmaster figures Braver and Laster and hand-painted them into the proposed colour schemes for their European releases. We picked up these figures from the head of Hasbro Europe who was also responsible for presenting these toys to the heads of the individual European territories at the time. The figures had not been transformed since that presentation until we bought them, which meant that they are very stiff.
The image galleries of these unique figures include comparisons with their Japanese counter-parts but not their final European release, as we do not own those yet. These figures are from an import period in the history of the Transformers line, as it was a time that support for Transformers had dried up within the US, but it was the lines popularity both within Europe and Japan that kept Transformers going and would eventually lead on the release of Generation 2.
Hasbro's press company have sent out the following 73 images of upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon figures. The images contain spoilers as they have the names of many of the characters, so if you do not want to be spoiled, do not click on the thumbnails.
In a follow-up to the news we reported on the 28th March regarding upcoming Transformers Dark Of The Moon toys where the first images of the Generation One Grimlock inspired Mini-con repaint called Dualor was revealed two new auction on Yahoo Japan have appeared online today with his partners Rav and Triceradon
Kapow Toys have posted the following over on the TFW2005.com boards
