Hi everyone,
Auto Assembly 2012 is less than three months away and we thought that it was time that we stepped up a gear to let everyone know about the convention! We’ve been making announcements about the event steadily over the last few months and the response and support that we have had from everyone has been phenomenal so far, but we want to make this the biggest and best Auto Assembly ever and – with your help and support – we know that we can!
We wanted to do something different to let everyone know about the convention and to share some more news and updates about the convention and we thought long and hard about what the best way to do it was and decided that there was no better way than the internet! Social Media has become an incredible part of our lives over the last few years and there isn’t anyone out there in the Transformers community that either isn’t a member of a forum, doesn’t use Facebook, Twitter, Youtube or some other part of the internet as part of their everyday life so we’re running this week-long campaign starting today to let the whole world know about Auto Assembly and what we are doing with the convention this year and we want everyone out there to play a part in this and share your excitement and enthusiasm about this year’s convention!
So what’s it all about? Well for the next seven days we want everyone to tell as many people as possible about Auto Assembly 2012! Whether this means posting comments on Facebook, sharing stories and news updates that we post here on the website, re-tweeting our comments on Twitter… anything you can think of really and we want you all to be as creative as you can! Just have fun with it and we’d love to hear what you all get up to! For those of you on Facebook, why not join all of us here at Auto Assembly and change your profile image for the next seven days to our QR code image that we have included here:

Talking of Facebook, why not like our page? If you’re not already doing it you can find it here and while you’re there, go to the Auto Assembly 2012 Event Page on Facebook and let us know whether you’re attending this year. Don’t forget it’s an open group so invite all your friends to come along too! Still with online sites and we’d love to have more of you following us on Twitter so why not pop along to our Twitter page at www.twitter.com/auto_assembly and let’s see if we can get up to 500 followers by the end of the week!
We’re not just on Facebook and Twitter though… we’ve got an active channel on Youtube with video footage from the convention from previous years and we’ll be uploading some more news announcements about 2012 shortly. We’ve just released a new photo montage video today for Auto Assembly 2012 so feel free to share this on your own Youtube channels, Facebook, Twitter and everywhere else too! Check out our Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/autoassembly
Anything else? Well, for those of you who shop with some of our dealers, you may have seen our latest flyer for Auto Assembly 2012 but if you want to distribute this yourself or post copies on forums, Facebook or your own website, feel free to post the artwork which we are now making available to all of you now
If you’re on any Transformers forums, feel free to talk to any of our team who will no doubt be online on all of the major Transformers forums including our own joining in in most of the discussions that will be taking place about the convention and we’ll be on hand to answer any questions you might have. We’ll also be making some announcements about the convention through the website over the coming week so if you want to get this news as it breaks, don’t forget that you can sign up for updates free of charge by subscribing to the site!
We’re really excited about what this week is going to hold and we’re really looking forward to hearing what you’ve all got to say about the convention and what you’re all looking forward to!

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog, Disciples of Boltax, with a report on Roll Out Roll Call 2012 which took place in Southhampton here in the UK over the weekend of the 10th and the 11th. We had the pleasure of meeting up with Jim and Bill before the show and taking them on a bit of a tour as we drove down to the show, but it's a great insight to read a report on any show from the perspective of one of the guests. You can read it here.

Auto Assembly 2012 Third Party Product Official Statement
Transformers fandom has been buzzing the last few days with discussion about third party products and the fact that they will no longer be available for sale from some events. As with many of our friends at other conventions such as Savcon, Slagacon and Dairycon, we believe that Transformers fans should be able to make an informed choice for themselves over whether or not to purchase unofficial third party products.
We have spent the last seven months looking at our policy in relation to these and while we will still prohibit the sale of some items, we will be adopting a more open approach which we believe will be much fairer on dealers and attendees alike and provide a much more enjoyable convention and a better trading experience for everyone.
For more details, you can read our official statement here in full:-

We'd like to apologise for the lack of coverage of Roll Out Roll Call. Out plans were to add on news live regarding the Mastermind Creations Nova Prime, Thundercracker and Skywarp figures, along with confimation that Ultra Magnus will feature in Regeneration, Bludgeon returns, the Seacons return and that "some characters will return, but not how you think of them" .. but my mobile dongle couldn't get a decent connection to the site.
Here is a very quick summary.
Mastermind Creations
- Cyclops was on show. Anyone wondering about the build quality, don't. It's 100x better then the Night Morpher Prime toys.
- The figures for 2012 are
- Hexitron (3 versions)
- Screech (Hearts of Steel Starscream)
- Warper (Hearts of Steel Skywarp)
- Screamer (Hearts of Steel Thundercracker)
- Nova Prime (with trailer for small robot and combined form)
Transformers Regeneration
- Characters designed to look like you remember them, not to look exactly like they did
- Some characters have been "repaired"
- Soundwave will appear Purple in flashbacks, but Blue in "current" day
- Seacons will be in it
- Ultra Magnus will make his US debut in the "original universe"
- Bludgeon will return
- Octopunch - "some characters will return, but will have changed from how you remember them"
- Nucleon will be in it, and resolve the outstanding issues (such as Grimlock not being able to Transform). Looking at what impact is had on characters such as Blaster etc. (aybe he'll turn Blue into Twincast??)
- Cover for 81 features Megatron on a thrown saying "what took you?"
GI-Joe Character Book
- Features character, vehicle and some backgrond art from Season One. Current title is "GI-Joe Field Manual Volume 1".
- More text then in the Transformers Ark Books, this contains Character Bios, information and "real life" statistics for the vehicles.
- If it sells well then they may be a volume 2 - Jim and Bill are already compiling information on a Season 2, movie and DIC
- They'd love to do a GI-Joe Renegades book, though there is currently nothing planned
Action Force
- Dave Tree showed off unreleased Action Force toys
- Desgins and concepts of unreleased figures and vehicles were shown
- Dave confirmed he is working on a book covering the history of Action Force, and including the unreleased material

It's less than 2 and 1/2 hours until Roll Out Roll Call gets underway in Southampton in Hampshire.
There have been a few snags on setup day, and prior to the event, but everyone was in good spirits yesterday during setup. There are around 12 dealers in attendence selling Action Force, GI Joe, Transformers, Masters of the Universe, 3rd Party goods, Thundercats, Tick and various other toylines.
Several of the domestic and international guests have already been spotted and are raring to go.
The event lasts Saturday and Sunday, starts at 10:00 today and tickets are available on the door for day passes.
Mastermind Creations will be showing off what the next 12 months will see with some exclusive reveals, the first time a UK show has a big reveal for Transformers (all be it a Third Party Company).
We'll be bringing you coverage live from the event, so stay tuned

Tomorrow is the start of Roll Out Roll Call 2012 and so we bring you a link to another exclusive item that will be available at the show. IDW artist Robert Atkins (who will be in attendance at the show) has onced again teamed up with UK colourist Simon Gough (who'll also be at the show) to produce a limited edition Red Shadows print. Robert posted the news on his blog and we have mirrored the final image below.

In case you had forgotten, we are just 5 days away from Roll Out Roll Call 2012 (the third installment of the GI-Joe / Transformers Convention, and Simon Furman has updated his blog regarding the event.
Barely have I gathered my thoughts and gear after London Super Comic Con than I’m off again. A week from now I’ll be heading to Southampton for Roll Out, Roll Call 3, the all-singing, all-dancing Transformers/G.I. Joe/Action Force event, which runs across the weekend of 10th & 11th March.
I’ll be there along with the likes of fellow Regeneration One creatives Andrew Wildman and Jean-Paul Bove, the god of G.I. Joe Larry Hama, Jim Sorenson & Bill Foster (the Allspark Almanac gurus) and many more. It promises to be a simply amazing weekend.
As well as signing/selling original scripts (largely unpublished), comics and more, all weekend, I’ll be taking part in a dedicated Q&A session (where more dirt on Regeneration One is bound to get dished) and presenting a special Transformers script-to-page presentation, featuring the art of fan favourite Nick Roche. The presentation is capped by a special gallery section featuring rare (again, often unpublished) art from the likes of EJ Su, Don Figueroa, Alex Milne and more. And in addition, there’ll be a permanent display of Transformers (and Action Force) original art from my own personal collection to enjoy.
If you can, get yourself along. It’s sure to be blast. For more details and how to order tickets, check out the All the Cool Stuff website here.

Simon Plumbe, head of Auto Assembly, has posted an update regarding their 100% record on credit card security across the 12 year history of the convention.
We know that many Transformers fans across the globe are currently concerned about repeated incidents of credit card fraud that have been taking place recently that are affecting many of you in these difficult financial times. To allay any concerns that you may have, bookings for Auto Assembly 2012 are still open and have been unaffected by this and we have not had any issues regarding credit / debit card fraud since the convention started in 2000.
We have been using PayPal to handle all our transactions safely since 2004 and are happy to offer alternative methods of payment for anyone wishing to attend the convention if you do have any concerns about paying using any electronic method. I can personally assure you that none of my team have access to any of your financial details or any of your personal information other than your name, address and email address which we need for the purpose of the convention itself.
In addition, I offer my personal guarantee that none of this information is shared with any third part organisation or individual not involved in the running of the convention.
In addition, I would like to offer assurances to all of you that our sister convention, Auto Assembly Europe, also uses PayPal for all of its bookings and transactions and as such is also unaffected by any credit card issues but they too will also be able to help with any concerns you may have once bookings open for this year’s event later in the year.

The Auto Aseembly website has been updated with the annoucement of a Transformers video game tournament for the 2012 show.
As part of our expanded Game Zone for Auto Assembly 2012, we will be running not one but THREE video games tournaments throughout the weekend at the convention this year. They will be running all weekend and will be open to all attendees and are completely free to enter. All you will need to do is come along to our Game Zone at any time during the weekend and as long as the games are running, one of our team will take your details and set you up in one or more of our competitions and you could be in with a chance of winning some great prizes, courtesy of www.transformersvideogames.co.uk
As we said, there will be three tournaments running all weekend, each focusing on a different game
